To save money I wanted to find guesthouse style accommodation that is offered in HK. This style of room is smaller, and has fewer amenities than American hotels do. It also requires more effort to find, as it is situated in a large building that has tenants of many sorts (guest houses, apartment dwellers, tailors, and a madrasa, among others).
That said, I was very happy with my choice. The room was very clean, and the building is very well located for guests who want to catch the subway or walk to Star Ferry and the pretty shore of the TST view of Hong Kong island.
Though my room had windows onto Nathan Road, in massive buildings like this one, a few rooms at Sleep Inn don't have windows. I would recommend paying a bit more to avoid rooms that don't have any windows, as I think these would feel claustrophobic to any guests who are more accustomed to western-style accommodation.

Great location and price, firm but comfortable bed with quality bedding, windows that open, and not too noisy. I would absolutely stay again! It's a bit confusing if you walk directly from the Kowloon stop of the Airport Express line (the exits and overpasses are confusing), so I'd advise either taking a bus or connecting to the local MTR for a smoother experience.
The location isn't exactly as on Google Maps, but close. On Google Maps, look for 240-252 Nathan Rd and National Court. There is a *tunnel* in between those two places, between Nathan Rd. and Tak Hing St. (where the indentation is on Google Maps). Find the elevator inside that tunnel and go up to the 5th floor :).
Hang Fung Hostel is only a 2-minute walk from Jordan MTR Station. Free WiFi is provided in the entire property. Hang Fung Hostel is a 5-minute walk from Temple Street.

I would highly recommend staying here because of the great location. MTR is just a couple of steps away, restaurants everywhere. The staff is also very helpful. We had to check-in early because of an early flight and they approved our request. They even allowed us to leave our luggage after checkout.

Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Such a lovely hostel. It can be hard to find a good, cheap, clean, quiet hostel right on nathan road and this was perfect. Self check in is a nice bonus also.
Great hostel! I wanted a quieter hostel that was by the MTR station and close to the harbour, and this place was perfect. I think the month of May is low season for them that's why not many people staying here. Beds were supremely comfortable and facilities were very clean. The staff who checked me in was very kind and polite. Great with helping plan everything out, how to get to places and finding good restaurants. Excellent location too. I would definitely stay here again!
I give 5 stars to this guest house - top location (right in the city center), 2 minutes from the metro station. It really is in a great location. The staff is so kind, smiling and friendly. It will help you with everything you need. Cleanliness is at a very high level. The only minus is that for two quite tall people like us, with a lot of luggage, the bed and the room in general was narrow. But for up to two nights it is tolerable. :) Thank you so much for everything!
Wonderful stay, great location, quiet and clean rooms. Marvellous view from the private balcony. Rooms in HK tend to be small so be aware of that beforehand. Host very helpful, recommended authentic cafes Redtea and Waso. Highly recommended
Great location, no need to take that expensive train from the airport which everyone takes, because even at night there goes a cheap bus, and the bus stop is 5 min from the hostel.
Nice staff!
Small but cozy common room and kitchen.
A cooler with cold and hot water. Free tea and coffee
Very clean.
Comfortable bed.
Comfort Guesthouse is situated in the city centre in Nathan Road and near the Opera House and the port of Hongkong, great location.
Very clean and tidy, friendly welcome service.
Inexpensive room
host was very nice and it was cheap, good location for being right in the busy city centre. inside ChungKing mansion which has lots of great Indian food places to choose from.
Great location and very quiet in the room. Close to shops and metro. Airport bus stops close by and taxis outside the hotel (they’re very cheap in Hong Kong). Room had everything we needed. Bed initially felt a bit hard but I slept really well, mainly because it was so quiet. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Great value for money and would definitely stay again.
Great hostel in a great location in Kowloon. The owners Albert and Jensen were very nice and gave great recommendations on things to do in Hong Kong and Kowloon. The hostel was on the top floor of the building and had a small balcony with a nice view of Kowloon Park. Great hostel for the price.
