Our stay here was truly unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, Maria and her staff made us feel incredibly welcome. Maria is such a warm and friendly host, always taking the time to chat with guests and make them feel at home.
We also requested a dinner during our stay, and it turned out to be one of the best meals of our entire trip—an absolute highlight that made our experience even more special.
The accommodation itself felt like a big palace, with breathtaking views that made us wish we could stay forever. Every moment here was magical, and we can't wait to return! Believe me, we've traveled the world and experienced our fair share of luxury hotels. What was different, Maria place feels like a homestay while you have your own entire big privet room, batheroom and kitchen while you can exprience the home local food and learn the local culture and stay with family.

This place is the best and cleanest room I’ve stayed in for the price in Bali. The bedsheets and towels actually smell freshly washed. Since the place is newly built, it’s extremely well kept. The garden is also well kept and so beautiful! It’s peaceful and I felt really safe. There is road noise from the room but because it’s far from the city center, it’s not bad. The owners are extremely nice and helpful too. This place is just amazing and I would stay longer if I had the time. I would definitely have my own motorbike if I stayed longer, to get around easier.

I loved staying at this place. With 25 minutes from Ubud central it's definitely more quite and touristy, which was exactly what I was looking for. Agnes and Ketut (the house ladies) made sure I was warmly welcomed and made me feel at home.
There is a shared kitchen were you can cook your own food, a fridge and a freezer. Would definitely come back here again in the future.

I don't know if I will have the proper words to describe this place. It's magical, full of love. The owner wanted us to feel even better than home. All the details are amazing, my eyes were dazzling by them, beauty is everywhere and it's so peaceful.

We absolutely loved our stay with the private pool. The villa was very private and we loved the environment. There was a great restaurant only a couple of doors from the property. This was fantastic for when it was raining heavily in the evening. The breakfast was delivered on time every day. Everything was very comfortable and of a high standard, and we would go back in a heartbeat.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Beautiful, very tasteful rooms. Lovely garden and pool area. Quiet surroundings with beautiful rice paddy terraces. Very polite and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast.
Villa Wastra is probably the most beautiful place we’ve ever been. It’s true that it is not a centric as other places in Ubud but if you’re looking for a place off the beaten track where you can unwind and just listen to the birds chirping, this is the place. We were lucky to be the only guests, which made the experience more unique. Besides, Maria, the host, was extremely helpful and caring. I actually cried when leaving the house.
In this review, I have only clicked the smileys with the big smile. The villas have a set-up that lets you fully experience the enchantment of nature in Bali. The tasteful and well thought-out interior confirms this unique experience. Big compliments to the host, hostess and their team!
cozy rooms, clean bathrooms with hot water shower, very good breakfast in the morning
but what is absolutely amazing is the beautiful garden in front of the rooms, neatly and carefully cultivated by our caring hosts - Wayan and his wife Emma
I have never met such nice hosts in my whole life…
The hotel and the back surrounding look good with the rice fields it s a shame the construction is cheap and prevents you from relaxing. The staff however is trying its best to make up for it…
Charming, quiet, peaceful. Not for those who want extravagance or are exacting in their demands. Staff speak little english but we managed and they are absolutely charming. A real jewel.
Bucu hidden guest house is a hidden gem! Especially if you are interested in meditation and mindfulness I can highly recommend to stay there. The location is wonderfully peaceful with a beatiful garden, the room is spacious and clean and, most importantly, Wayan and his wife are incredible hosts. Thank you Wayan for the time I had at your place, I will certainly come back!
This was our favorite place in Bali. A true gem, hidden in the middle of rice fields, 15 min away from Ubud by taxi. The location is remote and quiet, close enough to bustle that you can get there quickly, but far enough that you feel like you are really staying in the middle of the jungle. The entire villa complex is gorgeous and fun to explore, the (cheap) massages were fantastic, the villas themselves very private and excellently-fitted.
