McCarthy's B&B offers accommodations in Clonmel, 20 miles from Rock of Cashel and 30 miles from Christ Church Cathedral.

this was a very classic intimate bed-and-breakfast, with a lovely interior and a fascinating dining room full of all kinds of interesting artifacts from family members who've traveled over five generations while running this hotel. The room was small and cozy with traditional antique furniture and I love places like this so for me it was perfect as a solo traveler. I much prefer small family places, and there was a parking lot which was great, so I didn't have to park on the street. The breakfast the next morning was spectacular and the people so personable and friendly.

John was great and even surprised us by picking us up at the bus station. He then steered us in the right direction for dinner, The Local, and food was great.

If you plan to visit Ireland and you want to see the nature, enjoy the quietness / peacefulness - this is the place you will be looking. It is minimalistic, but at the same time, everything you need, is there. Cooking is outside - but even if it rains, there is a roof still protecting you and the food. And what a lovely breakfast the host served us - just wonderful. All natural and/or homemade - and freshly baked bread oven warm! - in how many places can you get something like this?!
