The guesthouse has a self-service check-in and out and it was very convenient.
The kitchen is fully equipped and has a washing machine, an oven, a microwave and all the utensils needed. Our room was upstairs and we had heavy luggage so it was a bit difficult to climb up the stairs but we managed to do it, the room was nice overall and we found chocolates on our beds as a welcoming gift which we appreciated a lot.
Next to the entrance there should be an additional toilet but it wasn’t available during our stay.
The hosts provided us fresh water, towels, sheets and blankets.
The bathroom was amazing, it was very big (a bit cold though), and had a shower and a tub, which we didn’t use unfortunately, as well as two sinks. A hairdryer was provided as well.

Our room was exceptionally clean, comfortable, modern & well maintained. Lovely products with shampoo (& conditioner👌). The housekeeper was lovely & very good at her job, we’re big coffee drinkers & she happily accommodated us.
We were never cold thanks to the underfloor heating.
Shared kitchen was spotless with everything you would require & a dishwasher for guests.
Washing machine & dryer facilities free for guests which was a big bonus for us!
We also saw the northern lights right outside our room!
Cannot recommend Strönd enough we honestly loved our stay, thank you!!

We receved an upgrade of our room. Thé kitchenette and eating room were seperated by a door and they were nice. There was a really big television screen. We had a problem with the lock on the door and the owner was available to help us immediately.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Beautiful & peaceful guesthouse overlooking the gorgeous fjord! So instagram worthy. Lovely dining and sitting room to chill with a lovely view.
Full kitchen facilities was available for use.
Host highly recommended the nearby Reykjafjardarlaug hot spring which did not disappoint at all :-)
Beautiful stay in middle of nowhere. Stunning views over the fjord and the seals. The inside is cosy and relaxing, a full kitchen to help yourself. And most of all Leslie and Greg are wonderfully hosts.
The guesthouse had a really great view. Our room was facing the beautiful lake and mountains of Bildudalur. The room and toilet were very clean. The bed and duvet were the most comfortable we have slept in during our 1 week vacation in Iceland. Special mention to the host Valdimar who was super friendly and welcoming! He gave us advice on our punctured tyre and updates on the earthquakes in Reykjavik. It was like staying at a friend’s place for us!🙂
great location and comfortable quiet room. tea coffee and biscuits on arrival.
