Good stay in Gerdi Guesthouse. We were arriving late and messaged reception ahead to pre order dinner from the restaurant, which they very kindly accommodated (and warmed up for us when we arrived) - thank you Lucie for helping with that! Our room was basic but comfortable, although the description said there was a TV and there was not. Location is remote but that was what we wanted. Very close to the 1 road and 5-10 mins drive from the Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach. Saw the Northern Lights from outside our room which was amazing.
Only negative was cost - it's expensive for what it is. But it was in line with other prices we paid in Iceland. Breakfast also not included in the rate we booked - for the money it should have been.

Good location, walking distance to city. Cross road is park.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Hotel is a very basic guesthouse (some plastic cables showing on ceiling of our room) but staff was very nice, they offer free coffee/tea/chocolate, location is convenient to glacier and nice view on the lake from hotel
Great location to explore the nearby glacier lakes, beautiful, clean new room with comfortable beds and great view over the valley. Communication with the guesthouse was great.
Great host, stayed up until 1 in the night to receive us. between green mountains, glaciers and sea. Truly a serene place. Best breakfast we had in Iceland
We booked Gerdi Guesthouse primarily for its location close to Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. The rooms were spacious and clean although our booking for 2 bungalows was delivered as two rooms in the main building. We did not see inside the bungalows to compare. The main building did have a nice common room for guests to use. We had a good dinner and breakfast at the attached restaurant but chose other cheaper options for subsequent meals.
great location not far from jokulsarlon glacier lagoon; in the middle of nature; comfortable bed; very quiet; tv with netflix account; the heating worked great
