I loved everything about this home. The location was perfect - It’s right on the way to all the best things along the south coast - only 12 mins from Selfoss, it was so quiet at night, super great place to see the stars or northern lights (from the very cozy hot tub on the patio), the greenhouse garden is to die for and the owners were AMAZING and SO lovely to chat to.
I wish I could’ve stayed longer.

Convenient location. Close to grocery store and dining options.
The water did have a sulfur smell, but other places I stayed at around the area have the same issue.

in the town of Þorlákshöfn which is undergoing a boom due to investments from First Water - a higly innovative, land based salmon farming opperation with lots of great new thinking backed by some sizeable investments.
That said - this property is a dormitory plus - nothing more....at least provide coffee, some choice in bedding, the abiltiy to have a queen (Vs 2 singles) & more than one pillow.

The hosts are very nice people. Location was great. I cant say enough about the Hosts. They were great to me..
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Guesthouse Heba is a lovely home which the owners have kept many antique and family heirlooms. They love to
tell you the history of these family items. They warmly welcome their guests. The guest rooms are very comfortable and the shared bathroom is large and well equipped. Also a sitting area is available on the same level as the guestrooms.
Staff super friendly. We had booked a room for 4, and they gave us 2 rooms of 2 instead, which was great. The Hostel is very big, with a very large room with billiard, table tennis and other games which was great, especially travelling with teenagers. It was very quiet, so we slept really well. Lots of cooking space. Price was very reasonable.
Great location next to the sea and a restaurant, staff really friendly and helpful, everything we needed in the kitchen, and the ghost museum was great we loved it!
We arrived quite late (23:30) and the check in was really easy, the rooms were spacious, comfortable and quiet. The common rooms and the kitchen were clean and had everything you need for a stay. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Sometimes the hostel owner organizes cultural events, when we slept there we were lucky to listen to a Canadian songwriter. The atmosphere was really nice - a perfect way to end our vacation on Iceland.:)
We had a lovely stay at Guesthouse Heba. We stayed 2 nights. Heba and Kristjan are great hosts.
Breakfast was delicious, with homemade breads and a moment to learn more about Iceland’s stories.
We highly recommend it. And will come back.
Good value. Nothing fancy and unpretentious. We all slept so well. The place is really quiet. The host was friendly and kind in the messages she sent. Of all the p,aces we stayed at in Iceland, this was the only one which charged a realistic price. Well done!
Breakfast was great. There were several options to choose from and more than enough to eat. We really enjoyed the homemade bread. The room was clean and the view from the bedroom was great as well. Heba and Kristan are great hosts; very friendly and accommodating.
what can I say, our stay with Heba was simply amazing. We loved her stories and the room was also very special. Heba is a great host, we had freshly baked bread in the morning accompanied with travel advice, recommendations and a lopl at their family histories and ancestors. We can't wait to stay with Heba again on our next Icelandic adventure !!
A great place with a fantastic view of the ocean. Heba was a perfect host and gave us so much interesting information about Iceland. It was wonderful to chat with her.
Breakfast was also amazing and we especially loved the homemade bread and jams.
This is absolutely a guesthouse to return to.
