This was truly an exceptional experience all around. A perfectly cozy and comfortable room for two (nothing too fancy, but complete with everything you need and even nicer than the photos suggest) plus the warm hospitality of the gracious hosts who welcomed us with cold drinks and immense kindness. The location is perfect, about 2/3 of the way to Imabari, and the views overlooking the water are the cherry on top - as is the selection of homemade jams which we made sure to purchase of a few of to bring home. Would highly recommend 伯方plus+!

The tatami mat room was pretty nice. a bit on the old side, but comfortable enough.
The staff was one young woman who handled my check in. She had pretty much no English and seemed super nervous until she realized I know enough Japanese to understand everything.
They let me keep my bike inside the hostel which is a great bonus.
The downstairs cafe space is nifty but was closed during my stay.
The location was interesting as it was in a shopping arcade close to plenty of stuff like a grocery store and bars/restaurants.
The place itself is a "fixer upper" and fits in that "DIY" category of hostels.

Stayed here as a cycling on the Shimanami Kaido. Staff were friendly, accommodating, and spoke English well.
Excellent traditional Japanese breakfast. Are hosts were charming and and friendly, and happy to talk about the history of the house.

The two ladies taking care of us were so, so nice and welcoming us into Tomoko-san's beautifully renovated and authentic ryokan. It was an absolute pleasure to stay and next time I'll visit Shikoku, I'll definitely return. The breakfast was simple & tasty and they even offered me curry when I arrived late on my first night. I had the single room and there were pj's and a yukata for me, so sweet! Shower amenities are all there and some hygiene products can be bought. It's located in a quiet residential area so you gotta plan a little ahead if you use public transport (local train station is only 5min by foot) but if you're by car don't mind it. I'd recommend ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. It was a real treat to stay and I'm looking forward to next time :))

We stopped here during our two days of cycling and were very pleased with the stay. The host (Sayomi) is so gracious to open up her home to cyclists. She also provides a delicious dinner and breakfast which is so important as there are very few restaurants along the way. This is a true homestay and we thoroughly enjoyed speaking with Sayomi over our meals with the help of google translate.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
The guesthouse is so beautiful, comfortable and clean. We arrived by bicycle after cycling the Shimanami route so arrived exhausted.
It is very sweet and delicate, a very traditional home and so special. The hosts were kind and gracious, making efforts to use translations into English which we really appreciated. It was so quiet and I slept very well there.
Located right next to the station with the kindest Japanese woman as host. This is a great location if you just finished the Shimanami Kaido or are about to embark on it. Everything was clean and in order and the host was very active in offering advice on things to do and eat in Imabari. Had a great time and certainly good value for money.
Lovely welcoming hosts, made us lemonade on arrival from lemons grown locally. Gave us tips of local area. View from the room was amazing at sunset. Great location.
The host and staff were great, very helpful. The room was large and clean. The capsules were spacious and comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet, and only about 10 mun walk to train station. Our host brought us a homemade bun with a red bean filling (I think) still warm out of the oven. Will definitely recommend this guesthouse/ hostel.
The hostel is located just next to the main station. Probably the cheapest accomodation in the city. Very clean and nice rooms, a laundry and a dryer is available as well.
Cute traditional room in lovely guest house with incredibly welcoming host who went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. Great location to start Shimanami Kaido if arriving from Imabari.
We were delighted to arrive at the guesthouse Kume after our cycling trip. The house was very comfortable and we were so well recieved by our hosts. The freshly cooked diner was amazing and we had a pleasant conversation.
Can't recommand Guesthouse Kume enough !
