ホテル ロマン, a property with a garden, is set in Koshimizu, 42 km from Lake Kussharo, 42 km from Lake Mashu, as well as 28 km from Tokyo University of Agriculture.

We're from Australia, so the design of this accommodation is very suitable. There's an undercover parking garage right next to the entrance. Room is very spacious, clean and warm, glad there's a bathtub! Everything provided inside the room is designed for comfort. There are even 2 mineral water bottles in the fridge. Too bad we only stayed for 1 night. It's also very quite because the room is a separate building from other rooms.

I spent 2 weeks in Hokkaido in different parts of the island but this is my favourite place to stay at. The facilities are nice, the host and family are so friendly and the food are better than any restaurant that you could go to in Hokkaido. If you have time and would like to have the besr experience in Abashiri, please come here!

Featuring 1-star accommodation, Traveler's Inn Asanebo is located in Teshikaga, 10 km from Lake Mashu and 14 km from Lake Kussharo.

Fantastic local hospitality and local knowledge of the area. Taka-San and Aki-San were so generous with their time. They prepared delicious meals and gave us an incredible sightseeing experience (for a very reasonable additional fee) of this stunning area. We highly recommend visiting Kawayu Onsen and staying here for an authentic experience. We enjoyed socialising over communal meals and tea. I also liked the local hot onsen (just down the road) and Aki-San drove us there and back in the snow. It was a highlight of our trip to stay with Taka-San and Aki-San and be shown this incredible landscape.

Conveniently situated in the Kawayu Onsen district of Kawayu, EZO HOUSE is located 11 km from Lake Kussharo, 13 km from Lake Mashu and 27 km from Higashimokoto Shibazakura Park.

Ezo house has lots of character. The shared area was more than sufficient for our group of six. The rooms were very homey, comfortable and well kept. It’s easy to see the owner cares a lot. And there’s a cat!

This place is an amazing Japanese-style house where the host welcomes you wholeheartedly. If you want to stay at a typical Japanese household and experience a Japanese-style hospitality, I would highly recommend this place.

Quiet, private and had all the necessities for a unique and comfortable stay. The house is built as a straw bale house that Native Americans used to live in. Very cool and an affordable stay compared to the prices you'd pay in Utoro or Rausu.

This quirky little house was a dream to stay in. A very comfy night's sleep after our car broke down. The house is super clean and cosy. The hosts are really nice and friendly and offered us help with our car and fishing tips.
