Oh my god, where to start? This place is FANTASTIC! We arrived in off season at what I think is a ski lodge, but Karuizawa is a fantastic place to visit in summer. The building is so cute and the rooms are lovely, the setting is fantastic, and the owner, Suzuki (I hope I got your name right!) is lovely. She offered to take us up and down from the nearby station if we needed (although it's also possible to walk), and went to great pains to make our stay as comfortable as it could be. They even have a cute cat!

We had such a lovely time at Corner Shop. We stayed in the tatami mat room which was perfect for us, the rooms are so spacious, beautifully laid out and we had a view out onto the mountain. The toilet and shower room were also very clean and spacious. There is also a small kitchen with sink, kettle, fridge and crockery that we could use. The guest house is above a cafe/shop/bar with a really nice atmosphere and the staff were so friendly, kind and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, this was the best place we have stayed in Japan and we will definitely be recommending it to friends!
