Very nice place near the Shirahama beach : the room was simple but with all needed and its private bathroom. The 2 outside private onsen are very nice ! We could not surf as there was no wave but you can park your car and use the outside shower until 14:00 after check-out, perfect for a morning session on the last day. Also, the breakfast was delicious (fruit juice, yoghourt, boiled egg and a very good sandwich) : you can have it on the go or eat it in the dining room !

Very clean room with a nice view. A bit difficult to go to Shimoda since the bus is not so frequent. Our host was very kind and helpful.

I had a fantastic experience at this guest house! The owner,Asami, was exceptionally kind and accommodating. Initially, I was concerned about the location being a bit far, but I found it very easy to walk to the guest house from the JR station.
The guest house is ideally situated by the river, making it perfect for viewing the Kawazu cherry blossoms and enjoying the night sakura. It’s only a 5 - 10 minute walk to nearby onsen and delicious soba dinner options.
I truly appreciate Asami's hospitality and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

Stayed for a couple of days and nights. The room my partner and I stayed in was a good size for the two of us, also had a sink just outside of the room to brush our teeth, which was great and a window to look out at the mountains.
Bus stop right outside for easy transport to and from the shops. 10 min walk to the train station as well.
Best part of the whole stay was the two incredible hosts. Even with the slight language barrier, they made us feel at home, helped if we needed it, made sure we were warm when eating, recommended spots to explore, and even drove us downtown.
Can't thank them enough! I'd stay again and recommend them to anyone looking for a place in the area.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
This is a golden spot! The house is worth a visit itself. It is traditionallly renovated, clean och simply beautiful in a calm and non-touristy area of south-west Izu. The host is so welcoming and kind, and we had dinner at her friends' little restaurant just next door - our best Tonkatsu we've had. It is recommended to travel here by car, but bikes are available for use during the stay. All we can say is: make sure not to miss this. 10 out of 10!
It is my first time to write review for a hotel.
The host in the guest house is one of the best host I have ever seen, excellent care and really clean, traditional Japanese house.
And I will always remember the host welcome us and said to us “Feel at home”.
Highly recommend travelers to visit and stay there.
This is an amazing guest house! The host is super nice and helpful. He gave us great recommendations for the area and did everything to make sure we have great time. The rooms are clean and cozy and the kitchen really has everything you need! You can rent e-bikes and normal bikes, as well as snorkeling sets, which is great to explore the area. There is really a lot to do and see. Recommend 110%!!
Itokawa Guesthouse, located just a short 10-minute walk from the center of Matsusaki, stands adjacent to the museum. Situated in a serene neighborhood, this clean and tranquil haven offers convenience with a nearby convenience store and supermarket just two blocks away. The hospitable host manager is always ready to assist with answers to your queries and local insights. All in all, Itokawa Guesthouse proves to be a delightful place to stay, and I'm definitely open to revisiting in the future.
Ryota is a great host, if you have the opportunity to join the BBQ or any other event, I highly recommend you to do so! It was also super nice to use his bikes and explore the beautiful surroundings!
We had a great time at Itokawa guest house and recommend the E-bikes tour with Izi travel audio guide. The host was nice and the location was perfect. Thank you again
The host was excellent and it had all the facilities of living in your own house. Great location and a quiet comfortable room. The ability to meet and interact with other guests. Good value for money.
