Lots of space for the five of us, owners were A+, picking us up and dropping us off from shin-onomochi, picking up our luggage that we had sent, and providing some breakfast amenities for the first day. It was very neat living in a typical Japanese house.

The location is awesome and the property is a treasure. We were in Japan for a total of two weeks and stopped here for a night between Osaka and Hiroshima and OH BOY was it worth it. And climbing the stairs isn’t that bad - packs > suitcases.

Really everything you would want from a hostel - comfortable, clean and well located. They also very kindly let me leave my bag (with no charge) for a number of days while I was cycling. I was also able to check in (slightly) early. The hostel seemed to be closed outside of check-in hours. The lady at the front desk wasn't hugely helpful or friendly - I wasn't sure if it was because I didn't speak Spanish or Japanese. Minor gripe was that I wasn't allowed to move to another (empty) lower bunk (mine was right by the door) even though the room only had one other person staying / the beds weren't being used and I asked at a quiet time of day when noone else was around.

We stayed 2 nights at the property, and would highly recommend it. Yuji and Yunko were very hospitable. They picked us up at the ferry and at the bus stop after the bike trip. They helped us with the bike rentals. We even shared a beer in the evening with them and their daughter Nao. They spared no effort to make us feel welcome. The room is actually the 2F of a small house on Mukaishima island. This means you get a lot more space than most hotels. Everything is clean, and the beds (twin beds) are fairly comfortable. The neighbourhood is quiet. A convenience store and 24/7 supermarket is close to the Inn, although we didnt go there. Island Country Inn is easy to reach from the Onomichi train station (not the shinkansen one), the ferry to Mukaishima is short and frequent, and as mentioned they provide a transfer from the terminal to the Inn. We found it an ideal location to do the bike day trip over all the islands/bridges, and we would certainly stay there again.

Perfect sight seeing spot is directly on the mountain behind the villa. Super delicious creperie at the harbour 5 min on foot. Calm and zen.

Staff were great. Very accommodating and helpful when I fell ill and needed to extend my stay and change my luggage arrangements. They even checked in to see how I was doing and offered to pick up medicine for me. Kotatsu in the common room was a great addition!

Hiro was excellent and incredibly helpful. Bed was cozy and warm with extra thick comforter. House is rustic and charming, old wood and sliding doors. Really good location, near several bike rentals, the bus stop, and the JR station. Also willing to hold luggage even after stay while riding the Shimanami Kaido!

I really glad I went here for the 2nd time.. But the dust in my bed quite a lot, I tried using the air conditioner but it's seem the remote can't work I hope I can get a good air ventilation next time I go there 🙂🥹 Beside that, the other was very excellent
