We liked the host, very friendly. Also the house looks nice, very traditional to us. It was a bit cold though and not very close to restaurants (not on walking distance). That might be something to take into account.

The owner was very welcoming and helpful. The location was central and good cafes nearby. The venue is somewhat old but has character and felt safe. I slept incredibly well in this ryokan.

The lady running the place is an absolute star - she gave me a lift to the base of Mount Ishizuchi so I didn't have to catch the unreliable bus, then that evening she cooked me a delicious okonomiyaki. The place itself is amazingly cheap given what you get - I paid barely more than I normally do for a hostel bed and ended up with a triple room to myself.

If you're on the Shikoku 88 pilgrim route this a great place to pass through. Clean, comfortable, the basics covered. I ordered the breakfast and recieved a vegetarian feast and great conversation with a warm friendly host.

Beautiful home feel. Clean, well furnished and beds made so comfortably for a good night’s sleep. Host was friendly and welcoming. The space felt warm and clean. Would happily stay for longer. Lots of amenities — washing machine and dryer worked well, and a quiet neighbourhood street for the dog to wander around in the morning.
