United StatesWe loved staying at Shirahama Beach Side Inn! The owners were super friendly and helpful. The private onsens were so nice after a long day of walking and hiking. The free breakfast was such a nice touch and so yummy! Softest sandwich bread ever! The eating area was very cozy, I spent some time working there in the morning and it was so peaceful. I came during a rainy time but I imagine during the summer it's very popular for surfers. I am from hawaii and the hotel had lots of Hawaii art which was very sweet to see. We hope to be back someday :)

The guesthouse is built in such a way that a view over the bay is possible from the room and the very nice and well equipped common area. The bike rental is a very nice add on to explore the surrounding beaches in the area and do some errands in the city. Everything is very clean and well cared for. Restaurants and bars nearby. The hostel provides a well equipped kitchen, bikes and stand up paddle boards. Good hikes and onsens around the area. The hosts are a kind, friendly couple who are enthusiastic about what they do to make their guests feel at home.
