We loved this lodged, we stayed in the family room, it was exceptional, the room was clean, cozy, the staffs so nice, also the breakfast was good, they change the options everyday, and did even a vegan option for me. Definitely trying to stay there again when I’m back in that area.

This was my second time staying at hotel mumon. This place had great vibes and is comfortable. The owners and employees are so kind and accommodating. Great atmosphere and just far enough from town for no noise and close to the lifts and restaurants that you can just walk everywhere. I hope to stay here for a 3rd time one day.

Typical minshuku/lodge in the mountains, but this one is right next to the ski run, so you can just slide down to the bottom lift (or snowboarders - just walk up to the gondola, its about 10 mins, you'll get there faster!) No need for shuttles!
(you can get to and from the train station using the cheap community bus, if time not an issue)
Staff - Utako very helpful and great at multitasking even when its busy. They really try hard to sort everyone out - just be patient as English is difficult for them, and your accent doesn't help ;-)!
If there is enough snow, easy to ski home right to the door - but careful of cars using the same lanes/carparks. the breakfast / dinner room has a nice view (I didnt eat there though)
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
All rooms have a view of the lake, a quiet and peaceful place. Ted and Staff were incredibly helpful.
Breakfast was plentiful. Use of Watercraft was a bonus.
Maggi the host made the entire stay different, breakfast and dinner is super delicious, excellent service the team go extra miles to delivered great customer experience, will be back!
The host was a grandma and a grandpa, they were super nice and caring. It made us feel like home, and they made us traditional Japanese breakfast which was very delicious.
We will definitely come back next time!
