Very friendly, clean, inviting space. We wanted the riokan experience, so we slept on the floor mats. I missed having a chair and table an outlet by the the middle mat, but we did have a tiny balcony to hang a few clothes we washed by hand. That was very appreciated. No eating in the rooms, but then the common rooms are comfortable and social. Perfect for younger people.

The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. We stayed for one night during the Takayama festival as a couple but it can accommodate more guests. The open-air bath was fun and easy to use with privacy.

Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Beautifully designed and very aesthetic. Lovely comfortable room. Great location: quiet but still impressively close to where you would want to be in Hida Takayama. Super easy check in.
Great location on the Main Street. We came when there was a street festival on and the atmosphere was excellent. The host we met spoke native English which was very helpful. Easy check in and could leave bags when we checked out to explore Takayama which is a beautiful place
Warm and welcoming boutique hotel. Lovely friendly staff. Very comfortable beds. Quiet yet perfectly located in Takayama. 10 minute walk to station and Takayama old town. Beautifully prepared breakfast and each morning.
Comfortable and quiet. The host was so polite and helpful. He recommended us some good restaurants and brote us to the bus station in the morning because the bus was not running due to Japan’ golden week!
Great host!
Everything at the property was great- it’s a quaint home stay - 6 rooms with 6 onsens- how awesome is that! Immaculately clean and host catered to special dietary restrictions- A* for effort. The location is quiet countryside for self reflection.
Very cosy, homely guesthouse. The bed were super comfy and had a nice communal kitchen space. The hosts were super helpful and provide a free daily shuttle to the city centre. I also left my laptop charger and they were super helpful in getting it delivered to my next hotel. Would definitely stay here again.
The guesthouse is located up above the city center, close to everything. I believe there are 2 houses and I wasn’t in the main one but it was all clean, had 2 bathrooms and 2 toilets, all the utilities, and bonus there is a cute garden at the back where you’re allowed to smoke (this is uncommon for japanese houses).
The host was really nice, spoke a good english and show me on a map everything that could be seen near the city center. I had a great time in Takayama, it’s a really beautiful place!
The INN was amazing. What a cool place to immerse yourself in. The beds were comfortable and the house was stunning. It is well worth the money to stay here. Great location, great host. We loved staying here.
