The location is the best thing. The privacy also is good even if it's at the back of the cafe. The people are nice and friendly.

This "private guest house," perhaps seen on Google Maps as the location Bookstore Ichi Cafe and Bar, feels more like a hostel with its small private rooms, but considering the price in relation to other places in Kinosaki it is worth it. The rooms have bunkbeds, so this is best for groups of 3 or 4.

The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast we got was quite nice! Also, it was just a short walk from the beachn which was pretty even in the winter :)
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Great value for money, brilliant host. The week we were there was very quiet with 2 other guests. Host is lovely and helpful. Lights downstairs go off at 10 pm. Very nice considering it is a hostel and sharing bathrooms/toilets. Very clean. If you come for the onsen, some onsen closes on a certain days of the week. Lovely experience to enjoy in Japan.
I really enjoyed my visit to Takeno, a quiet, traditional fishing village. The guest house was simple but really lovely, and spotlessly clean, and Keisuke made sure I had everything I needed. The sashimi set for dinner was the best I have had in Japan - fish fresh straight off the dock. It was also really relaxing to hang out downstairs in his bookshop bar. All round a great experience.
Staying at this guesthouse in Kinosaki was an absolute delight! The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The cleanliness of the entire place was impeccable, and the house itself was simply wonderful. From start to finish, our experience was fantastic, and we can't wait to return!
We had the best stay at Yuko`s guesthouse near Kinosaki Onsen. Yuko is extremely friendly and cooks up the most amazing food. The property is located close to Kinosaki Onsen and it is easy to get there using the bikes provided or the local bus system. The area surrounding the property is beautiful and quiet. We would love to come back one day!!
Chihiro and Mizuho are delightful hosts and it is a privilege to stay at an authentic onsen guesthouse. The sisters are so helpful on sharing the offerings of their town in spite of their basic English.
Wakayo feels like home! Two beautiful sisters running a lovely, traditional guesthouse who were the warmest & most welcoming hosts I think I have ever met. A very charming place. I will be back! Thank you so much. :)
Great hosts and in a great location, a short walk from the station in the middle of the town. Everything was perfect for our stay. Free onsen passes were included with the room which was a bonus, and they provided yukata and instruction on how to wear them and how to use the onsen. We didn't opt for meals during our stay, but they left us tea in our room each evening which was really nice.
