The staff are very friendly and speak english. There is bar attached with a mixture of tourists and locals where I was able to learn a lot about the local area and culture. The surrounding area has a lot of natural beauty; with mountains, forests and lakes all reachable by bike (which you can rent). The hostel its self also has a common area and kitchen, which are very cosy in winter. The facilities and bedding is first rate.

Host and people staying there where nice - the location is good for people interested in history, or japanese whine. The attached bar is chill, just like the rest of the hostel.

A really beautiful bar and Hostel in a classic building. Arriving at the bar at night in the rain to be met by a warm light, nice music and friendly faces was very nice. The hostel itself is set apart and is very clean and nice with good kitchen, showers and comfy beds. It has a very homey and cozy feeling. They offer free drinks and condiments in the kitchen which is great if you make your own meal. I wanted to try their cider but I was too tired that night. The staff / family are very nice
