This was our second stay at Ashburnham Estate, and once again, it exceeded all expectations. There’s a rare quality to this place—an effortless elegance and warmth that welcomes you the moment you arrive. The landscape is breathtaking, with rolling hills, and quiet, expansive views.
Every detail of the experience feels considered, from the beautifully curated interiors to the gentle rhythm of each day. The food was exceptional, and prepared and served with genuine hospitality.
Ashburnham offers not just a break from the everyday, but a complete shift in pace. The whole fteam is gracious and attentive without ever being intrusive, and their warmth and professionalism enhanced the sense of calm and care.
I travel a lot, and I don’t believe there’s anywhere quite like it, thank you Vish, Daniel and the team! We will return again I’m sure!

This is a beautiful place set in a tranquil setting, perfect for a few days to unwind. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the local food excellent. We highly recommend staying at Strathisla

Sarath and his wife Deepthi are the most delightful hosts.
We had a wonderful time staying in their beautiful home in the jungle.
We had a steam massage (highly recommended) and Sarath took us for walks around his spice plantation.
It’s a beautiful place to unwind and chill, and you are looked after so well.
Deepthi’s cooking is amazing.

Great location near the lake, the room was big, clean and comfy.
Bathroom was like an hotel one, also the terrace looking at Kandy was great.
Jaye was such an amazing host.
The paid breakfast was average and wifi worked well.
