My recent stay at The Forest Edge Hotel was an enchanting escape into tranquility. Nestled in a serene area, this hotel offers a refreshing break from the hustle and bustle of city life. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with the warmth of rural hospitality and the allure of village charm.
One of the highlights of my stay was undoubtedly the breakfast. The spread offered at The Forest Edge Hotel is simply delightful. From freshly baked pastries to hearty omelets, there was something to satisfy every palate. The quality of ingredients and the attention to detail truly set this breakfast apart, making it a memorable start to each day of my stay.
The ambiance of the hotel exudes a cozy village feeling, allowing guests to unwind and reconnect with nature. Surrounded by lush greenery and tranquil surroundings, I found myself immersed in a sense of peace and relaxation throughout my stay. It's the perfect retreat for those seeking a break from the chaos of urban life.

We had a great stay at the Green Village in Dambulla! The room was perfect, very clean, with air con, hairdryers, hot water - everything you could need! We were given fresh juice on arrival and had a delicious breakfast. The owner was amazing, he dropped us off in different places and gave us excellent recommendations. Would highly recommend a stay here if you are in Dambulla :)

We stayed in 8 different hotels and homestays during our trip and this one was the best by far. The couple managing the facility had a great job to create a very special environment and experience. The rooms were very clean, decorated with flowers etc. The breakfast was the best. They gave us great tips, suggestions for our trip. We felt like we are part of the family. The facility is very close to the Dambulla Cave Temple but it is also in a very silent corner with a great garden. You can see monkeys, giant squirrel, birds and other wildlife just around the facility. We definitely suggest this place to anyone traveling around Dambulla.

We weren’t the easiest guests (asked for a 7 AM breakfast and then ended up sleeping in). Still, hosts were gracious and accommodating, taking time to help us plan our sightseeing and arrange for drivers. Room was simple but clean. Working A/C and hot water.

Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
