Beautiful, quiet and big rooms. Airconditioning, big comfy beds. Perfect base for safaris in udawalwe. The couple who own/run the place were extremely sweat, welcoming and helpful. They were very organized and responsive with arranging a safari for us. Dinner was delicious - a variety of local dishes cooked with produce grown in their garden. Would 100% recommend

10 miles from Udawalawe National Park in Udawalawe, splendid lake view safari lodge provides accommodations with access to spa facilities and public bath.

Charming place and owners. The lake offers a lovely vista and ambience. The owners themselves were very attentive without becoming overbearing. They let us use the canoe, showed us how to collect fishing nets from the lake and made one of the best meals we had during our trip. We also booked a safari with the owner, that we can definitely recommend. He was very respectful of the animals and kept away from larger crowds. Overall a great experience.

Max Safari Villa in Udawalawe provides accommodations with a garden and a shared lounge. The air-conditioned accommodations are 8.6 miles from Udawalawe National Park.

It was very roomy, air conditioning worked great, breakfast was great! Max was wonderful; we arrived from the airport area with a driver that we expected to pay in US funds, as we hadn’t yet been able to get to a western union to pick up our Sri Lankan currency. The driver did not understand and did not want to accept the US funds even though it was previously arranged. Max converted to LKR and every one was happy. He arranged a private safari to Udawalawe National park. Our driver, who works at the hotel was exceptionally! He pointed out all the various animals that we most definitely would have missed, he was patient and took us to areas you would not see on a regular tour. The highlight was seeing a mother elephant and baby so close you could see the hairs on their backs. Our only wish was that we stayed long enough to do Yala National park as well! Thanks, for the personal hospitality, Tamara and Nikki

Providing city views, The Elephant Next-Door in Udawalawe offers accommodations, a garden, a terrace, and a shared lounge.

The property boasts a beautiful ambiance. Upon arrival, you'll walk through a double gate as you're warmly greeted by the staff who serve you fresh coconut water. Check-in was a breeze. The room provides ample space with A/C in the sleeping area and a rustic living area separated by glass doors and windows. The entire property is clean, well-kept and aesthetically pleasing. Breakfast was delicious and made to order and served promptly at the requested time. A short walk to the elephant transit home which was amazing to watch the elephants during feeding time! Great restaurants are just a walk away.

Friendly and beautifully run guest house perfect for visiting Udawalawe. Nature House surpassed our expectations - the terrace outside our room over looking the jungle was a real highlight as was the tasty curry buffet and breakfast. The owner and his son were great hosts and we would recommend this to anyone. They have a pool finished in 2 weeks too so will be even more of a top place to stay soon!

Perfect location - 5 minutes from national park entrance. great host who really wants his guests to feel welcomed and taken care of. The food was fantastic, the pool was clean and there were not so many people staying there at that time,so it was quiet. Plus thing: there is one elephant coming really close to the hotel to feed,so you can see him from 1 meter distance :)

Great location! Close to the elephant transit home 15 minute walk. Great host who offered me a cup of tea when i got back and some good conversation as well. Managed to set up Safari for me with top driver Suresh. Knowledgeable driver who had a crazy good eye for all animals. Breakfast was the best i had in Sri Lanka.
