What a wonderfully authentic place directly at the beach. The beach is most of the time completely empty and almost private. The room hast everything you need, including A/C. Luxury is not to be expected here, but what is much better is that you experience Sri Lanka and the area from a very authentic perspective, which is much more important to us personally. Expect an amazing view and an icredibly friendly and helpful host. At night you can hear the sound of the waves and with Tarka we had the best host imaginable. He was always available via WhatsApp and organized all the transfers for us and got our day off to a great start with an excellent breakfast every morning. It is very rare to find such a dedicated and friendly host. The turtle experience was also unique. We could see sea turtles laying eggs twice. Tarka called us immediately when a turtle appeared and explained to us how the animals bury their eggs, which was a very nice experience to see. Thank you for everything. Highly recommend this place to anyone for a great authentic experience at a peaceful beach!

Lovely downstairs room with a little garden and chairs outside. Felt clean and had a mosquito net and fan. Owners were wonderful and really kind, made a beautiful full Sri Lankan breakfast for us in the morning for $5 each. Very affordable place.

The rooms were clean, comfortable and very nice. The little terrace with the garden view was amazing, the breakfast was delicious and the hosts were very friendly, they even gave us sandwishes for the airport :)

We were kindly greated by our nice host with a welcome drink on our huge private terrace. The room is clean and really big with a big fridge, small kitchen, washing machine and A/C. The A/C was working, but the room is very big so it did not cool down as fast as we were used to from other guest houses. It still worked fine and it was never too hot. For the first time on our journey the host provided us with extra beach towels, not only towels for the room. The breakfast was good and the cute Rottweiler keeping us company was a great extra. We were quite stressed when we left, and the host gave us 2 bottles of water for free because he thought we looked too exhausted. The location is central between different beaches, but to get to them you should take a tuktuk. Walking, it may take you from 30minutes to one hour to get there.

Hosts helpful and friendly. Owners dogs were lovely. Nice views from top floor apartment. Quiet and peaceful. Can watch monkeys, peacocks and birds from balcony. Spacious accommodation.

The property was little but further from the centre but we rented a bike so we didn’t mind that much. The room was clean and breakfast was nice.

Beautiful! A complete oasis of calm - so tranquil. The gardens are just stunning - so many beautiful plants. It's a very quiet and peaceful area but very close to restaurants and shops. The room itself was wonderful too - immaculately clean with high quality furnishings and a very comfortable bed. The owner and his family are very friendly, kind and helpful - offering lots of good advice for places to go and things to see. The breakfast each morning was delicious - very generous with lots of fresh fruit. The omelettes in particular were a favourite. We were there for several days but could easily have stayed much longer. We would not hesitate to stay there again if we ever go back to Unawatuna. Thank you.
