PortugalCheck in was easy and simple. Room was clean and spacious. AC and fan both worked. The lady working there was friendly and tried to solve some of the issues that came up. Wifi was also quite consistent. It's not in Manzanillo, it takes like 40 minutes or more depending on traffic to reach the city centre, but it's close to the beach and there's convenience stores and some bars/restaurants nearby.

There is an individual bathroom for guests. The host was amiable and made the trip feel like visiting a friend; he was helpful, understanding and kind during my two evenings there. Overall, a quiet place, thoughthe apartment is part of an apartment complex, so there are many other people living there, but this generally was not a problem. Facilities are definitely past their prime, but every shortcoming was redeemed having great philosophical conversations with the host over a lovely breakfast.
