A wonderful stay, quite close to the Great Stupa and endless alleys of shops. Only drawback: no elevator. Not a problem with light luggage, but a lot of stairs if you packed for a month, especially for a higher floor.

I stayed in Nirvana Kuti following the recommendation of Linda, a wonderful woman that I met in Delhi airport. She was indeed accurate: Nirvana Kuti is such a beautiful accomodation, comfortable, clean and pretty new. It was easy to feel home.
Besides the comfort of the room, with a big, warm bed, with views to the temple just in front of the house, it is located just a few steps from Durbar square, in a very calm street. I slept extremely well and woke up to the beautiful views.
Life is magical and I met Bobby, the owner of Nirvana Kuti, even before my stay. He kindly offered me a ride to Nirvana Kuti, and he made it very easy for me to feel home.
Even more, he also allowed me to stay a bit longer because my bus was leaving in the evening.
I appreciate Bobby's kindness and the beautiful taste in which the house is built. It is both comfortable and stylish, and the location couldn't be better.

Stayed comfortably for weeks here and will definitely stay again! Highlights include:
- staying for a great cause (profits support the education of monks / nuns)
- room amenities (reliably hot showers, reliable wifi, safe, mini fridge, AC, etc. — truly a luxury compared to other hotels in the neighborhood)
- kind, accommodating staff & security
- airport transfers / daytrip in the nicest car we've experienced in Nepal, with special requests perfectly accommodated
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
The house was big and a little bit away from the noise of the city which was very nice. But what I loved most were the host family, they really welcomed us so warm and always cared for us very well.
