Beautiful spacious room, Rachel and Peter were very polite and welcoming. The bathroom + shower was massive! Bed was delightful! Everything was squeaky clean! Above all (for me) the place has real charm and personality. True to its name. I especially loved that!

It was a unique experience, far more interesting than a standard motel. I felt very relaxed in the old Whare. It was clean and tidy and our host, Matthew was delightful, he gave us freshly pressed apple juice and as many apples as we wanted. I would definitely stay again.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Clean and comfortable rooms, very good cooking facilities, lovely views to garden area, quiet, washing and drying facilities available, host provided milk, eggs and bread which was an unexpected treat.
Bryan and Mary are excellent hosts, and were very generous in the facilities provided, including inviting us for drinks one evening and leaving provisions in the fridge. The muesli for breakfast was excellent. Free use of kayaks or e-bikes was available but we were out and about so did not use them. Minor issues were raised with Mary and our comments welcomed and taken on board. Lovely generally quiet residence right on the tidal riverfront so with a little more time and warmer weather we would have made better uses of the facilities.
Great location, very quite (we live with city noise) loved the gardens which made the cottage very private.
Exceptionally clean and well ventilated. Enjoyed fresh eggs for breakfast provided by the host.
Location, quietness, nature and grounds, hot tub, facilities, and communication with Jane our host! Great to have a bottle of wine and chocolates. Great variety of teas, coffees and ice ready in the freezer.
Super quiet, very hospital, lovely view of the river and everything you need in the cabin. Host and her family, including Labradors friendly and generous.
The accommodation is located in a very nice and quiet area. The bed was very comfortable, everything was clean and tidy and the hostess were absolutely lovely 😊
