As a solo traveller I need to feet safe in my room, in the building, in the area, throughout my stay. Gomez Guest House ticked all the boxes: area is good, and the room set-up is fine. Room is basic but clean, and with sufficient lighting and good wi-fi which helped me finish my work.

Everything was absolutely perfect! The room was a good size, with plenty of power outlets, great air conditioning, and fast WiFi. The bed was very comfortable, and the bed sheets were fresh with a lovely smell. The bathroom was well-equipped with a shower, cosmetics, and hot water. Everything was spotlessly clean and tidy.
There was also free parking available, which was a nice bonus. I couldn’t have wished for anything more!
Thank you again for a lovely stay!

He had a lovely time staying here and couldn’t find any fault of the place. Staff was very accommodating and lovely. The place is good location but I would recommend renting a bike to be able to get to the main area. The road to the accommodation is an off road so it does get muddy so bare that in mind.
The only thing to mention is that when I booked I thought there was a kettle in the room and one of the mentioned facilities was a kitchen. Although you could get hot water to the water refill I’m not sure what access you had to the kitchen so that was unclear to me.

The property was very clean, the surrounding area is very calm, the breakfast (toast with egg for vegetarians) was basic but good, the staff was very nice and helped with every question.

I had a great stay at Casa Aureola. It's a beautiful villa with only 2 or 3 guests (I even had the house alone). The villa is on the frontline to the beach and during the night you can hear the waves. It has a very big and well equipped kitchen which is connected to the living room with a beautiful balcony. When I had breakfast here I could watch the sea (see foto 1) The internet connection was available in all the rooms and even at the beach. The house is owned by a Philippine family who gave me the feeling being their private guest. I can't understand at all the negative review given here by one guest.

Loved the location right by the river. Room was comfortable for our family, clean and the kids loved the outside bathroom. View from the top was lovely overlooking the countryside and rice fields. Food at the restaurant was exceptional! Kids loved doing the firefly tour!
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
The host Aljohn was super nice and cooperative. The accommodation is located in a quiet neighbourhood. The kitchen had everything we needed. In short, we got much more than what we paid for.
Our hosts were very welcoming. The place was also quiet and rooms had comfy beds, complete beddings and towels, and had a small service area by the terrace. Not to mention we enjoyed the lovely view.
Mr. Gomez is a lovely host, the room is clean and comfortable and there is the possibility to easily rent a scooter.
The guest house is walking distance from the town center so the location is quite good, and by scooter it's easy to explore that side of Bohol.
Breakfast is very nice as well, with a great selection of fresh fruits too!
- super friendly and helpful host
- scooter rental available for PHP400 per day
- nice breakfast with fresh fruits, fried eggs, toasts and tea/coffee for PHP180
- spacious room with separated living-room and kitchen
- close to all the main attractions
I liked the quietness of the whole place and garden in the city center. The fact that you are staying in a historical building is also pretty cool. The staff was super nice and very helpful with anything!
The neighborhood was quiet. Good kitchen. The host is always very helpful and goes beyond the standard service to make my stay comfortable. Whatever I needed and he was there. When I needed extra utensils for the kitchen, it was quickly provided. The breakfast was great.
Alan was a great host making sure we had the best time in Bohol. He organised everything for us, had a great Vegetarian breakfast and even cooked us a Vegetarian philippino dinner once. We loved our stay and would definetly come again. Cant recommend it enough!
Everything was good, very friendly and helpful stuff, comfortable bed and big linen, good AC, strong wi-fi, close to the city center, quiet and relaxing place, free water in the hall. If you want to stay in the city then Safari Hostel is a good choice.
