But Marianne went out of her way to rescue the situation - arranging alternative accommodation at a charming neighbouring guest house, and offering us free breakfast. She also helpfully transferred a cycle hire booking from her daughter's company in Töreboda, providing the bikes to us in Hajstorp instead.
