Hosts were very quick at replying on booking.com and went above and beyond to help. We met the owner in person when we checked in and he made sure we had everything we needed. He recommended a brilliant motorcycle ride for us when we asked for some 'non-touristy' things to do, as well as recommending a place for lunch and helping us to plot it all into Google maps. He even recommended a brilliant evening spot for dinner. He was available when we needed him but also gave us our privacy.
The room was brilliant with an amazing view of the mountain in Chiang dao! The planting around the buildings was incredible (even in dry season!) and made it feel like a little oasis.
The pool was great - long and deep enough to swim a few lengths and everywhere was lovely and clean.
We can't recommend Bougain Villas enough - we even stayed here an extra night!

Really nice bungalow with seats outside and large comfy bed. Good bathroom (shower curtains keep the bathroom dry). Nice garden and lots of space. Really good breakfast! Fresh fruits, sweets, sandwich maker and lots of different hot drinks for the whole day to use. Always hot water for a drink. The host is very friendly and cooks great dinners. Also helped us out with transport and scooter rental.

The staff was great and very helpful, not at the reception though but reachable via phone. The location is great, just on the side of the busy street where you can get food and everything you need. They offer scooters even if we didn't take it there. The room and shared bathroom were comfortable, and clean. We loved staying there.

Amazing, it is a living art space filled with art, creativity, the most beautiful buildings and gardens. The spaces are so well set up and welcoming, very rustic, cozy and thoughtful.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
