Breakfast was best among all the accomodations we had for the entire 10 days ring road trip. Room was well equipped and clean Bonus: The host is very experience in Northern light viewing. He directed us to the best time and spot to view northern lights. Awesome!

I feel so bad I can't remember the main woman's name but she was wonderful. So welcoming and gave us so much information about the history of Drangar as well as recommendations for the rest of our trip. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable and so quiet. The whole property is stunning and worth walking around! The breakfast was delicious and included homemade bread and jams by the owner which just felt like such a wonderful and warm touch. We both kept saying we wish we could stay longer!! It felt very special!

Out of 7 times visiting Iceland, we never stopped in Stykkisholmur - this was long overdue. I think we picked the perfect place to enjoy this town, as Monika was an outstanding host. We pretty much had the guesthouse all to ourselves, as a group of 7 people. We enjoyed all the nice touches from the owner, all the little extras like some food in the fridge, 2 types of coffee to choose from in the morning, and the games and books in the living room. We were a bit in a rush to continue our tour and head back to Keflavik the next day, which was our only regret as we could not enjoy the guesthouse a bit longer.

Located 6 km from Stykkishólmur, Helgafell provides a garden and free WiFi. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom. Fantastic location, clean well designed cabin and Moli the Icelandic sheepdog who came to greet us in the morning and each time we returned.

Big living room with superb look on the whole area. Quiet as a whistle. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessary cutlery should you want to cook something. A coffee machine with coffee is also there. WiFi and Smart TV present with RakutenTV for channels. Spacey bathroom. Bonus points: sheep, horses, a cat that will want to get inside the house to greet you and a lovely black dog that will want your snuggles in the morning :D

The special thing about this place, which in my opinion was the best option for traveling in Iceland, was that the rooms were like hotel rooms with private bathrooms. At the same time, they had a fully equipped kitchen, which you typically don't get in a hotel but is essential when traveling in Iceland to cook meals and store groceries in the fridge. They also gave excellent restaurant recommendations. We went to the restaurant next to the guesthouse and had one of the best dinners of our trip to Iceland. The restaurant felt like a Michelin-starred establishment. It was expensive, but definitely worth it. Thanks for your recommendations and for the wonderful, comfortable service!

And if you want to drink a nice cup of coffee I suggest you Valeria in the small village a few min away by car.
