Not only was there a convenient shuttle bus stopping right outside Pension Moomin Papa to transport guests to the ski resorts, but whenever the shuttle didn't reach our desired destination, Moomin Papa graciously drove us wherever we needed to be. The private onsen provided a rejuvenating experience after a full day of skiing. Additionally, a delicious Western-style breakfast was provided every morning for only 1000 yen, adding to the exceptional value of our stay

Superior experience! The host Mina and her mom are very kind and offer great service! Mina is fluent in English and always tries her best to make sure I enjoy the stay. Stayed in the single room, the actual room size is bigger than it looks in the picture. Big wardrobe for storage. Complimentary breakfast is great and comes with a wide variety of drink options, but the portion might not be enough for people who normally eats a lot. The place is super convenient with a free shuttle bus stop right across the street, making it very easy to get the train station, GALA and Ishiuchi.

The accommodation is a cozy little bed and breakfast on the 2nf floor of the cafe (may not be easy to tell from the pictures.) The host was very friendly and picked us up from the train station (which we could've very easily walked from given that it's only about 700m away.) She was very friendly and was able to point out some local spots to get food and a good rental shop for ski/snowboard gear. We were also given free breakfast w/ drink at the cafe in the morning and allowed to store our gear downstairs and after checkout as well.

Old house with not simply vintage style but real details. Love all the furniture and the wood stove at first sight. Nobu welcomed us with some nice herbal tea. She speaks fluent English and we had some nice conversations. She also recommended and gave us a ride to a nice public bath. What we cherished most is the special visit to Mr. Kawanaka, the local artist. It’s our pleasure to meet him and appreciate his artwork. Truly memorable journey. Thank you!

Dave and Lisa are so easy to deal with and made us feel so welcome that we turned our 2 day trip into 7! They made our trip so convenient from picking us up and shuttling us to/from skiing and the train station, to booking us suppers at the best restaurants, spas and onsens and day trips. Do yourself a favour and stay here, you will not regret it!

Nemaru is the embodiment of "cozy" - there's no end to the cute little curiosities lining the apartment! There are many delightful books to look at, as well as a projector for a fun home theater. There was clearly a lot of love put into these accommodations, and I think everyone will feel right at home here. Miura, the host, was also very kind and welcoming!
