And his wife is a great cook! Lovely breakfasts and dinners. The cabin is marvelously located overlooking the lake and the terrace is an absolute highlight, so nice to hang out. The cabin itself is small and basic, but with everything you need! Even coffee and tea facilities :-) We had a great time and enjoyed every minute.

I stayed in some guesthouses in the same price range throughout Sri Lanka, and the water pressure and temperature of the shower were the best I have ever had. The room was bright, spacious and clean. The air conditioning works well. The owners were kind and helpful. And we appreciated the free bottles of water and hiring of a scooter from here to get around the world heritage sites. The location was also very convenient, close to restaurants, heritage sites and bus stops.

Sahan Guest House is an excellent choice. The location is perfect, very close to the ancient sites. The place is quiet, calm, and ideal for relaxing after a day of exploring. The hosts were incredibly helpful and made my stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend

New Haven Polonnaruwa has been, by far, the best guesthouse I've been in my whole trip. The place is brand new, extremely comfortable and clean. It is also decorated with good taste. The exterior area, still under construction, is spaceous, and has a lot of possibilities. It has a traditional kitchen built in clay, and an area to have breakfast/lunch/dinner very cozy and nice. Congratulations to the chef! Food is so good! The owner, Iran, puts a lot of love on the project. Also he has shown me his amazing paddy field, we've collected coconuts together and do not worry if the place doesn't have a swimming pool (yet), because he took me to a canal for a nice swim very near from the place.

I can't recommend Villa Ravichini Homestay enough! The place is fantastic. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom nice with good water pressure, and the breakfast was delicious. But what truly sets this homestay apart is Ravi. He's the heart and soul of the place — so patient, kind, and helpful. Despite the heavy rain on my arrival, he suggested a safari to the Eco Park nearby, where we saw many elephants and plenty of birds. Shiran, our driver, was great too — knowledgeable and respectful of animals and of nature! Ravi also made amazing tea, rented me a bike, and even took me to the Shivaratri Festival at the ancient temples. If you're in Polonnaruwa, stay at Villa Ravichini.

Clean rooms and bathrooms. Beautiful property. There are paddy fields adjacent to the property where peacocks and other birds come. Nice dining hall. Breakfast and dinner were good. The hosts were friendly and helpful.

We stayed at Dilshan Tourist Home in Polonnaruwa, and it was an excellent experience! The location is perfect, close to all the main attractions in Polonnaruwa. The rooms are very clean and well-maintained, and the breakfast was delicious. We also used their taxi service, which was very reliable and convenient. The hosts were extremely friendly and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Highly recommend this place if you’re visiting Polonnaruwa!
