A lovely little resort with a large covered area with kitchen, tables, overhead fans, hammocks and BBQ. Plunge pool was great for cooling off after a hot hike. Room was simply furnished, with a wall of open shelves that were perfect for clothes, food or other items. Bathroom is nicely finished. I was especially happy with the large sink with plug where I could easily handwash a few items. This is the kind of place where you can stay for a few days just to unwind and enjoy nature and birds all around you. We had our own car which made it easy to access. Bring all your groceries with you as there is nothing nearby! Kitchen is well stocked with cookware. A little inconvenient to carry non refrigerated food prep items back and forth from our room (about 20 m walk on a gravel path).

Paola is a great host and gave us tips of things to do in the area. The kitchen was well equipped and the hostel is just a few minutes walk from the beach.

Beautiful, lush property with many fruit trees, birds, howler monkeys (close enough to hear), interesting nighttime sounds and more. Real jungle immersion with a touch of luxury. Gwendal and Negar are warm, caring, attentive hosts with three friendly dogs. The rooms & property are impeccably maintained with beautiful woodwork and tile. It is a very safe space with a wonderful river to wade in and nearby local restaurants, birdwatching and the Corcovado National Park. The volunteers and other guests were also very friendly.

If you like camping, this set-up won't phase you at all. It was easy to cook here. There was a nice, covered area with hammocks where the wifi could reach. Luis and Julia were very hospitable. Luis is quite a character with a fascinating background. He is also a good stone and wood carver. I suggest bringing some cash to see if you can buy one of his stone carvings. We wished we had brought some extra.
Travelers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. These simple accommodations are in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
The location is perfect for a stay in Puerto Jimenez overlooking the water watching the bird life and the locals coming and going. Dolphin watching trip straight from the property. Lots of info about the area at check in. Very friendly staff. Good value for money.
Amazing location, you walk directly onto the (practically deserted) beach. Finally a spot where you can actually find full coconuts at the palmtrees, normally they all have been "harvested" by locals.
Awesome beach with warm ocean water, plenty of spots to stay in the shade.
The house is very cozy, round shaped. Nice outdoor kitchen that we actually used. Friendly owner.
Really welcoming and genuinely lovely hosts, room and bathroom both very clean. We were met at the bus station and given a lift to the property which was a really nice surprise. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Puerto Jimenez
