The location is amazing, right in the center of town and the apartment has a wonderful view shown in the photos attached. The hosts partner welcomed us when we arrived, he was so friendly and even called a restaurant in town to see if they could accommodate us on short notice. It’s a really large space and quiet in the apartment.

The name of this outstanding place is program - the mill of Love. Nina is a careering host, paying attention to details and made the stay very joyful. The support of her mother in the kitchen made the stay more enjoyable with local food influenced by her Ukrainian origin. The breakfast on the photo is prepared for one person ! The spacious room offered a look to the river and the old mill from the 12th century, a bathroom with a real shower (a lot of water flowing), newly established and modern. The Guest House is located on a farm with cattle, chicken, pigs in the countryside, about 10 km to La Roche Posay. During this time of the year it was very quiet and a lot of time to be on my own. The big heart of the hosts and their joyfulness made a difference for me. I recommend the place to anybody looking for a break from the usual life filled with activity, even to friends living in the area.

What a wonderful place. The castle has so much character and Hugues gave us a very informative tour explaining the incredible history! Alexandra was so welcoming and provided delicious breakfast of local produce .The room was very comfortable with lots of space and a wonderful bath to relax in at the end of the day! I can't recommend this place enough. Well worth every penny.

The whole experience far exceeded my expectations. The proprietors were warm, friendly, caring and eager to make my stay as comfortable as possible. The bedroom was spacious, the bathroom well fitted out, with thoughtful touches, and the spacious walk-in rainfall shower was a joy. A charming fully enclosed private garden out back is another plus. When I said I didn't eat breakfast in the morning, only midday, but would be leaving earlier, they offered to pack mine to take with me. I expected a croissant or similar. What I was given was an entire lunch, including two types of sandwiches, water, blueberry yogurt from a farm in the same village, an apple, snacks, a bottle of water with a cup, knife, fork, paper plates and napkins. I really was taken aback and very appreciative. They are also animal lovers (I had two little dogs with me that they fawned over). In addition to permitting them to run loose in the garden, across the street is a nice grassy village square that was perfect for walking them. The village restaurant is two doors down, there is plenty of street parking just outside the front door (and they let me pull my car into the garden so it was locked inside, as being in the midst of a move, I had lots of items like computers in my car that I wanted to ensure would be safe), and there's an exceptionally good epicerie/village grocery just around the corner. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.
