Liked everything. Have stayed before and enjoyed our return. Mark and Emma are very welcoming and the atmosphere is relaxed. The property is a one minute walk to nearest pubs/restaurant in centre of Hawkshead. Breakfast superb! Also parking can be a problem in Hawkshead but The Old School House has parking available on site. Would definitely recommend.

Well located close to the river, walk trails and the centre of town. The lounge and breakfast was great. Very handy to have parking.
Travellers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. This simple accommodation is in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
The location is great - short 5 to 10 minute walk to the town centre. The are multiple hiking trails accessible from the accommodation and also from Grasmere more generally. The cleanliness of the accommodation was incredibly high. The pillows and bed were incredibly comfortable. I appreciated little extras such as a mini fridge, kettle, teas and biscuits. Michael was a lovely host who provided lots of information on hiking trials and good spots to eat. Very friendly and kind. I will definitely return in the near future.
Beautiful cottage. Our room was exceptional 103 with a brook running outside our window. Brekky was very nice and Rihan was a lovely host, as the other staff . Highly recommend.
Fabulous location and not too far to the closest car park which was safe at night. Amazing breakfast and really lovely hosts who looked after us very well.
Nick is a great host. Really appreciate the early breakfast on our first day when we were off hiking. Victorian House is a lovely hotel with a good sized room and period decor. We felt really well cared for. Thank you!
One of the best UK stays I've had. Staff were absolutely great hosts, and the food was superb which rounded off the days adventures well. Great location and spent the week on foot which was rewarding! Will be back
Lovely place.
We stayed in the Garden Suite and had our 2 Irish Terriers with us. No charge for the dogs.
Loved that we had our own entrance into our accommodation.
Immaculately clean.
Super cosy.
Bedroom was separate to the living area.
Only a few minutes walk to the centre of Grasmere.
We chose the breakfast option on booking which we had at the local pub that is owned by the same people.
The breakfast was lovely.
Richard the host was great and really approachable for advice about the local area and walks.
We would definitely return .
