The Edgcumbe Hotel & DECK Restaurant offers modern simple stylish accommodation influenced by Nordic design. The property has a relaxed and informal feel.

Excellent location overlooking the beach and a 2-3 min walk to the sea pool. Lovely staff, fabulous breakfast and very clean & tastefully decorated room. Will be back! (Only thing I didn't love was the poor water pressure in the shower but not worth bringing the review score down!!)

This historic hotel has first-class food, friendly service and a great location for North Devon's sights, including Clovelly village and the picturesque Tarka Trail for walkers and cyclists.

On arrival we were warmly greeted by the Receptionist, Margaret, and we had help taking our luggage to our room. The Royal is a traditional old style hotel and some lovely old style architecture, but the decor did not feel dated. We had a standard room with massive comfy bed and large screen TV, and a modern and functional en suite shower room. We had a comfy lounge chair and a dining chair. Our room was at the back of the hotel overlooking the Tarka Trail and houses beyond. Very quiet and just what we needed for a 4 night stay visiting friends in the area. We had dinner in the hotel's Bistro and can highly recommend it - the Cajun Chicken was gorgeous!

Staff were very polite. Breakfast was good. They always found us a table in the evening if we wanted a evening meal.

The Anchor Inn is a wonderful, friendly place to stay. Well kept and maintained whilst full of character! The food was delicious and all of the staff were super friendly and understanding of our needs. The locals were very welcoming and chatty and the village itself is very pretty, albeit a little remote, which we were already aware of.

Great breakfast, fresh fruit salad, cereals, yogurts, toast, assorted drinks, cooked to order hot breakfast with wide choice. Towels and bedding changed during our 5 day stay, room cleaned every day. Very knowledgeable hosts in respect of the local area. Lifts offered to start and end points of our planned coastal walks. Very good choice of local eateries for the size of the village within easy walking distance, friendly staff and 'locals' in the pub. Very friendly hosts, highly recommended. We wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

In a quiet Location. Cosy comfortable cottage on farm land well away from road noise. Great host who where there if we needed anything but left us alone to enjoy our time away. Great bed and we slept so well. Wood burner was very efficient throwing out lots of heat. But equally the underfloor heating was great to. We loved watching the birds everyday as there was a bird feeder in the garden and saw deer on one of our walks in the fields behind the cottage.
