Penyvoel Hall, a property with a garden, is set in Llanymynech, 14 km from Whittington Castle, 20 km from Chirk Castle, as well as 29 km from Shrewsbury Cathedral.

The house is beautiful and in a lovely location. We were greeted by Sandra who was welcoming and cheery. Our room was very comfortable and very nicely decorated. Very comfy bed. We were a little disappointed to find that a cooked breakfast was only available at the weekend. However the continental breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Jamie and Sandra made recommendations of things to do including a visit to the limekilns just up the road. It was fascinating and well worth a visit. The bluebells in the woods there were stunning. Oswestry was well worth a visit with a lovely park just perfect for a picnic. Chirk castle is only a few miles away with lovely grounds to walk round.

There was no breakfast, and really no staff about. I had the place to myself so that was good. I enjoyed staying in the area, met some nice locals and had a great time up the road on Jazz music night.

The room was clean and large. The food was really nice, both evening and breakfast. The staff were really friendly and even the locals who use the bar area were also very friendly. There was a garage to park our motorcycle in as well. Great place to stay.

Lovely friendly hotel with astonishing history and beauty. We were made welcome from the second we walked in to the second we walked out. The locals were as friendly as the staff and gave us some great insider knowledge of the area. Food was superb both in the evening and at breakfast. The welsh lamb steaks were to die for and the fish pie was the best we ever had. It was definitely not dry !! Rooms were clean spacious and very comfortable. You would struggle to find a better hotel in this area.
