We had a fantastic stay! The room was very spacious, with large windows that let in plenty of natural light. The bathroom was also generously sized, featuring a tub, and we were provided with plenty of towels. The beds were made upon arrival, and the room was warm and cozy—perfect for winter.
The amenities were great, including a kettle, cups, glasses, and tea and coffee. Everything was clean and well-maintained. Breakfast was included; while it was basic, it was a good start to the day.
The staff were exceptionally friendly, making our stay even more enjoyable. Honestly, we’re not sure why this place is rated only 2 stars—it exceeded our expectations! We’ll definitely be back.

We found this to be a pleasant, quiet location to stay just outside of Inverness, with a view of the firth. The room was small but comfortable. I particularly appreciated that they stocked "real" coffee and a press pot, rather than instant coffee, in the room.

Nice clean cottage, very good continental breakfast, on a busy road but it quietens down at night. The view from the main window up the loch was gorgeous, like a picture painting. We enjoyed our stay.

I'm not sure I could express how wonderful this place is! Gunta, the hostess is kind, friendly and very accommodating. Our rooms were immaculate and well stocked, plenty of storage for personal items, hooks to hang our coats on, places to put our luggage (not the floor), hair dryer hung in plain site, outlets well placed, good lighting. The description says there is a washer and dryer which is true, what it didn't say is that Gunta takes care of that as well. She washed, dried, folded and delivered our laundry to our door. She did offer us dinner as well and had 4 selections for us. Everything was delicious and nicely presented. We also had a lovely breakfast in the morning. We highly recommend this accommodation.

The hotel room was very quaint and cozy with just the right amenities provided. The host was exceptionally kind and knowledgeable and provided use a great intoduction to the town and where to seek out entertainment and food. The info book provided in the room allowed us to plan out our stay in the area and gave us info on good places to find entertainment and soemthing to eat. The sweets by the bedside were a nice touch along with the books and other interesting things relating to the area found in the suites living area. The location was great as it was a short walk to town centre and very easy to get into and out of for the remaining leg of our trip. Parking on site was great. I would recommend the Dionard Guest House to anyone who wants a great place to stay in Inverness. Breakfast was also wonderful.
Travelers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. These simple accommodations are in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
The location and atmosphere. The bar was good which was used by locals. The room used for breakfast and a sitting room had a particularly good atmosphere. The new owners are making improvements all the time, a work in progress which will only make a stay even better.
Both the home and the host family have a rich history.
The B&B is situated ideally for those looking to see Inverness and the surrounding areas.
The town of Strathpeffer is also very charming.
Lovely hosts, family atmosphere, sweet dog and cats on a wonderful spot. Absolutely confortable room and probably one of our best memories of Scotland.
Beautiful place to stay. Perfect location for exploring Highlands. Strathpeffer is a beautifull litlle town with a lot to see and do. Holly Lodge has a perfect, peaceful and quiet location with outstanding views. Rooms were comfortable, clean & nicely decorated. Fiona is a great host, always happy to help. Very good breakfast on the top of that. We did enjoy our stay, and will be happy to go back one day.
