The locals in Guadeloupe were wonderfully friendly and so accommodating - we had absolutely no negative experiences at all (although my French was challenged at times!). The location was good - about a 25-minute walk from the nearest beach (see photo) and the marina (see photo). It was a 5-10 minute walk from the boulangerie and supermarket (Carrefour). There was no food and the cook disappeared There was building going on so constant noise and no mention of this when I booked or compensation The hotel allows locals to descend on the property and there is no space left for guests - so I often had to just stay in my room or on the small balcony.
