We had a lovely stay at this beautiful place. Rooms and facilities are clean and spacious. The homemade food (kerala style) was very delicious. The owners are very warm hearted and made our stay very comfortable. They had good recommendations on what to do and how to get around. It was very calming to just relax in the lush green garden with lake view and the village life . Next time we are here we will come, again.

Property is only accessible by boat (provided by host). Mr Gopal and Vishal are great host. Breakfast is good. Location is fantastic, along Pampa River and paddy fields. In the heart of Kuttanad. Tuk tuk can be organised by host. We walked along to river to witness local life.

Located a bit too far from the city. Go for it if you want to hv a taste of rural life with no or very less connectivity. The difficult part is no road till the property for about 250metres, so when you book it online keep a note of it and be ready with some muscles to lift your bags 😅 Also, it should be priced a bit cheaper for this reason as you get plenty of really cheap options in the city itself. However, the owner might be able to provide you a discount if possible.
The staff Shito was extremely helpful and sweet. The best part about him and the stay, is they arranged the shikara boat at our door step. So the extra travel that you make away from the city is balanced by the house boat at door step.

The home is in a peaceful residential area, but close walking distance to shops and restaurants and the ferry dock. Jose and his family were really welcoming and friendly. He helped us organise lots of activities including a fantastic sunset kayak trip, small boat trip and houseboat stay, and he helped us navigate the ferry system. Breakfasts were super tasty with plenty of fresh fruit. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed and the balcony overlooking their lovely green garden was a great place to sit. Icing on the cake was that the family had just got an adorable new puppy!

(At first we were confused as this is not the main Marari Beach we had expected, there are no shops or beach cafes here, they are a tuk tuk ride away to the North. However, once we'd visited the beaches at Marari and Allepuzha - both littered and agoraphobically vast - we fell in love even more with the little 'private' beach in front of this homestay. With working fishermen's cottages around there is also a fast disappearing authenticity to this area).
