The room is in paradise, surrounded by nature ❤️ after or before the boat tour (we did both sunset and sunrise, both amazing) you can just relax on the porch or around the table outside. We met Vishnu's brother and wife, who were very friendly. His brother did the boat tours and answered all our questions with patience. Also the only place on our trip which had a rubber mop in the bathroom so that the floor was drying right away after showering. Big plus for me :)

Lovely host that really went out of his way to make me feel welcome and comfortable, including inviting me and the other guests to participate in a large family celebration for his wife’s pregnancy. Congratulations again!! The room was very clean and the food for breakfast was simple but filling. The sunrise boat ride was gorgeous, highlight of my trip.

A lovely family with whom to stay in a relatively new concrete bungalow across the street from the river, where the backwater canoe trip picks you up. Good sized room and bath with excellent hot water. A nice porch on which to eat excellent home-cooked meals for breakfast and dinner (dinner costs extra).

Staying at vrindavan was an actual dream. The rooms were lovely, good ac, comfy beds, modern toilets, yoga space and outdoor communal area in the garden. But all these things were extra in compassion to the hosts. Anand and his family are such lovely people, everything was so easily organized for us and nothing was too much trouble. The boating (highly recommend the sunrise canoe) was so cool, and we could go right from the property through the canals to the lake. The food was actually out of this world, getting such an authentic array of dishes through out our stay. We stayed over the Christmas period and Anand organized a Christmas party, decorated the place and got Christmas cake for everyone. This stay is one of our highlights from our whole trip in India. If we come back to kerala we will definitely be coming again.

She helped us arrange activities like kayaking and canoeing, she and her family Made a range of delicious curries for us and she is also a really lovely and interesting person to talk to. This is a must try Heritage resort for family, couples and friends. We were well treated by the family with love and care. Didn't feel the stay is for business needs as we had spent good times with their utmost humanity and their local stories. They provided bicycles & scooter (free of charge )boat arrangements,local transportation and delicious homely food. As the property is new and just started,all the furniture is well good and new. Bathrooms are neat and tidy. Good fragrance in the room. Totally worth the money and must try. Thank you Anu and family for making this a wonderful and memorable trip.

The homestay was quiet, comfortable and clean. The property was beautiful as well. Our hosts were welcoming and caring. My husband was unwell and they were so supportive with nutritious food/snacks, offering to assist with access to medical care, and a ride to appt. They booked train tickets for us and even got us to the train in a neighbouring town when our train was cancelled. They had great options for exploring the backwaters, unfortunately we were only able to do the shikara boat but that was great! We are so grateful to have chosen this homestay.

    Perfect blend of the tunes of nature and the bhajans from a nearby temple. Loved the adorable interaction with the family of the owner. Premises were kept very clean. Easy access from the railway station.

    I loved this location! There's backwaters right in front of this house. Owner and the staff are too sweet, this was an old house, they recently converted it into this beautiful, cozy homestay. Space and rooms are clean, green and overall, I loved the architecture and minimal vibe of this homestay. Also, the cook, Raju bhaiya makes delicious South Indian and North Indian food. Brownie points for his coffee and hot chocolate skills - tell him to make one for you :)

    We had a very good time at Vishnu’s home stay. The food prepared and served was amazing. On top of it Vishnu took us for canoeing for a price and it was brilliant. He knows many ways inside the island and that made him show various places during canoeing. Thank you very much for all the hospitality and food and we definitely come back again.

    Honestly this homestay was more like a home. Suresh Uncle, Aunty and Anand were amazing host. Aunty is such a great a cook and Uncle took us to see the nearby places in Munroe Island. This place is so calm, amazing location just next to the canal. They also arranged the canoe ride for us. More than the homestay I liked the simplicity and warmth of the owners. Uncle even gave us the plants from their garden. Rooms were well lit and clean and they even have a chill out zone, a nice pond and a ground for kids to play.

    This was my second stay at Munroe Island Backwater Homestay. The location is breathtaking, and is perfect for a relaxing trip. The staff are so kind, and the food is fantastic - there's always something different on the menu. I felt incredibly safe at the house, and would be more than comfortable visiting alone as a female!

    Deepa was super friendly and welcoming. We had a nice long chat about all sorts of things, She is interested in getting to know her guests, which makes the homestay all the better. The room was pleasant, and it seemed like fairly good value. The food was really tasty, and I was offered more if I wanted it, so very generous portions. Deepa arranged for her father to take me on a canoe trip, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

    The room was spacious and very clean. The host family was very nice and polite. They organized us a boating trip around the backwaters of munroe island as well as dropped us at the train station at the end of our stay. We enjoyed every moment of the stay. Especially the food was amazing. We had traditional Kerelan food cooked by the grandma. We could always decide what we wanted to eat with veg and nonveg options. You also have the choice to cancel dinner and go somewhere else for food but I would recommend the food at the home stay.
