The location of the homestay is excellent. Being away from the main road keeps it free from vehicle noise. The meals were superb, and they even served some delicious local dishes. The Gurung family took great care of me. I will definitely visit again soon.

I had the most wonderful stay at Yangdup Bhutia's family home, which is a beautiful mix of local art and extremely new facilities. For the evening meals I was offered different types of Sikkimese food, which were all delicious and filling. There is a large reception room for reading, yoga, television, and tea, and the bedroom is large with a lovely view of the hill. It's in walking distance of the monastery, the bird park and the ruins, and Yangdup could not have been more helpful in arranging transport for the lake, skywalk, and waterfalls, and a taxi back to Siliguri. Thanks also to Rinku for a great sightseeing day. All the family are so welcoming, and it was nice to be a little outside the main town. Quiet, peaceful, with a beautiful view of the valley. Thanks all.

We had a lovely stay at the Alpine Jungle Stay ( 4 friends from UK). The rooms were amazing and really different to the rest of India - almost japanese style. They made delicious dinners and breakfast, and couldn't have done more for us. They also made us lunch for our trek. The owner was also lovely and chatty. It was also out of the way, and quiet so you felt like you had a good place to rest away from busier parts of India.

This was the best homestay of our entire trip! The whole family were so lovely and welcoming and made our stay so lovely. The food is all grown on their farm and is delicious, and the chai is divine! It’s really in the middle of nowhere, which is really tranquil and perfect for a reset. There are plenty of hikes to do: to the Buddha Park, a hidden waterfall in the forest and the Seven Mirror Lakes. We also went to the monastery and hot springs which we’d really recommend. There’s no wifi, but mobile data works just fine. Absolutely would recommend this place to anybody looking for peace and quiet in the foothills of the Himalayas - the view from their terrace is really special .

    If I have to say in one word , "We met our new family" The home stay will make you feel you are at home. A beautiful view of mountains and such a peaceful place. The family looked after us so well with genuine smile, delicious food and lots of care. This is a must go place and We can't wait to visit them again.
