India1. Loved the warmth & hospitality of the guesthouse owner's dad & the housekeeper. We had booked 2 rooms so were lucky to get the lake facing room which was heavenly, we could even see a sky full of stars from our room at night.
2. Very clean and comfortable & I was happy to get airtel coverage at the guesthouse. That's the only network currently working.
3. The simple yet delicious home cooked meal was just what we needed at an elevation of 13,861 feet, with AMS just around the corner.

For the ladaki not as they live by -35 to -50 ! they keep the doors open even by -5 ! we were frozen ! i think the homestay is the standard in Ladakh. Felt very welcome and especially the common room where we had our dinner and breakfast is just so nice and beautiful. You can enjoy the view of PangongLake from there :) And you have an amazing view from one of the bedrooms on Pangong Lake. The house and rooms are nicely made and clean. The hosts did their best to help us in that situation. After a long trip, the evening snacks and tea were a lifesaver, and the 'chutagi' (local dish) for dinner was a culinary delight. The rooms are very comfortable and the bathroom is essential but perfectly functional. The living room is in the traditional Ladakhi style.
