What a cool hotel! The observation deck was really cool. Wish the sky had been clearer! Loved that there was a fridge, easy parking, the bed was comfortable, and it was just a fun experience.

Best hosts!! When we got to the property, we were told we would find the key in the front door, but it wasn't there. We called Smári (the owner) and he came out at 10 pm to open the door for us in the middle of a snowstorm. Once we got inside, we found a wonderful two-bedroom mini-apartment with an in-unit kitchen and a big kitchen down the hall. Everything was clean and we enjoyed the night sleeping in comfortable beds. The next afternoon after my friends and I had checked out, I got a text from Smári saying that my friend had left her wallet (her driver's license, credit cards, student ID, etc.) and he offered to bring it to us when we would be in Reykjavik later that week. We met up with him and he handed it back to us, what a wonderful host. He went above and beyond!

It was an ok cabin. The best part was that one of the extension cords had outlets to charges our phones without Icelandic adapter. It had a big table to have dinner and to use paper maps to plan.
Travelers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. These simple accommodations are in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
A lovely bed & breakfast home stay within the beautiful landscape surrounding near Fludir. We stayed in the family room which had an indoor bathroom and shower. Other rooms share. Good kitchen facilities! Very informative and helpful owner.
Our best budget wise decision of our Iceland visit!
This guest house offered the best bang for buck on our trip. Good host. Well equipped kitchen. Nice hot spring nearby. A couple of hours from the airport.
Excellent accommodation. There are 6 private rooms sharing 2 very clean bathrooms and a well-privisioned kitchen and dining/lounge area. The B and B host is not present so it is actually more like a really good hostel. Lots has been done to make guests feel comfortable and to give useful information. Generous tea and coffee facilities at all times and generous availability of bread (& toaster), cheese, cereal and yogurt for breakfast.
