We loved every minute of our stay at Clarissa! We stayed in the whole apartment on the first floor and it had everything that we needed and more: kitchen utensils, towels, blankets, an umbrella for the beach...
The apartment is really spacious and we found that everything was very clean and well kept. We had a terrace with an amazing view on the sea and the best sunset view. The bed is comfy and the remote area guarantees a very quiet night sleep.
But the true stars of our stay were our amazing hosts, Giuseppe and his wife Maria who made us feel as if we were not just guests, but family! When they found out that we had arrived without a car, they helped us find bikes to rent at a cheaper price, and the next day the bikes were already waiting for us outside. This is just one example, but they have been exceptional hosts, taking care of us and going out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. My boyfriend doesn't speak Italian but there was no communication issue as Maria speaks English and she also illustrated us the best places to visit around Macari. When we had some issues with our bus on the day we were leaving, she did everything she could to help us fix it and also asked us to send her a message when we arrived safely at our destination, that was really sweet!
Do not get discouraged if you don't drive, as there is a free bus up until the end of September connecting Macari to the bigger town of San Vito. There is also a cafe and a couple of restaurants in Macari, no shops but reaching San Vito with a bus or bike is not impossible. On the other hand, Macari has some truly spectacular views and if you prefer a bit wilder places over the classical tourist resort, then that's definitely the destination for you.

I loved how much it felt like we were staying with family! They made my daughter a scrambled egg every morning… home made warm cakes that felt like nonna’s!
The location was perfect.
Nothing bad to say….
I hope I get to go back!

With only five bedrooms in the hotel it was very personable. Sabrina and the family were fantastic with any questions or requests. The hotel was spotless and our room was cleaned every day, even if we had a late wake up!!
The breakfast had an excellent selection of breads, pastries, fresh fruit, meats, cheese, yoghurts, cakes, eggs and many more delights all served by the small, tranquil pool.
It was perfectly situated a 10 minute stroll from the main town of San Vito Lo Capo, a lovely coastal resort with many, many restaurants, shops, bars and sandy beaches.
It’s a perfect place to relax with a loved one, with a great friendly atmosphere about the place.
Travelers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. These simple accommodations are in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
Delightful B&B in a small village very near to San Vito. There are some lovely beaches nearby and they are very well organized. Breakfast was delicious with typical Sicilian pastries and brioche brought fresh every morning from a local bakery. There’s also fresh fruit and yogurt and other breakfast food. Enza is a lovely person and a great host.
