Loved summer hiking from this beautiful mountain lodge to escape the city heat. 3 minutes walk to bus service with access to multiple trailheads throughout Shiga Kogen. The owners create such a welcoming cosy space to escape - thoughtful, stylish, beautifully presented. Incredible quality in a home-feel environment. Private in-house onsen, superb home cooked meals. Highly recommend both breakfast and dinner (best decision)!

The owners of this hostel are so kind and welcoming. I had a late train, sadly, and yet they waited for me to greet me upon my check-in with smiles on their faces and plenty of positive energy. The place itself is very cute and I loved the DIY style inspired by the owners' love for crows. (Karasu is crow/raven)! The locations is brilliant and I felt very much at home, had a comfy bed compartment with a large pillow, and the facilities were very good. The room was also very warm, which was appreciated given the freezing temperatures outside. Thank you to the lovely owners for my wonderful stay!
