The place is run by a young guy who really knows how to make customers happy. He was super helpful and went out of his way to take care of our large group of ten.
It’s also really close to our family home in Badulla, and offers great value for the price. Very clean rooms, good food etc

The location of Green Village is in a very nice place. The terrace view is magnificent. The staff is very attentive and prepared a nice breakfast for us. It is a clean place where you can stay comfortably and feel at home. It is very close to the center and within walking distance. But you have to go uphill to get to the center :)

Had a great stay at New Blue Home. Nice room and lovely surroundings. Really convenient location for the Little Adam's Peak and Nine Arches Bridge trails as well as being a short walk from the centre.
Our host Shirley was especially amazing. Extremely helpful and very smiley. While we were in Ella he gave us recommendations and arranged a tuk-tuk. He also arranged a trip for us to Yala NP then a drop off in Mirissa which was really appreciated. On the last night when we arrived home in a mad rainstorm he appeared with an umbrella and a huge strip light to get us to our room. Plus at our 4am start the next morning he was there to make sure we got our taxi and gave us surprise packed lunches. I'm not sure he ever sleeps! Such a lovely guy!

Very friendly staff who gave us breakfast every morning and helped with our bags and getting tuk-tuks. The room was quite small however not ad issue. The views were amazing as we were right in the mountains however this hotel was not really walkable from Ella town as it is up a big long hill.

Definitely brilliant view of the waterfall, very hospitable owner, good breakfast. There are many facilities in the hotel itself (shared kitchen, tables, etc.). Silent place. Clean rooms and common zones.
Note that the hotel has a rapid up and down road , but for us it was not a problem.

We had an amazing time during our stay and we expect this to definitely be the best accommodation during our 3-week trip! We’ll 100% be recommending Serene Homestay to anyone we know who’s visiting Ella on their travels. Our hosts were so friendly, welcoming and helpful and they cooked an amazing breakfast for us each morning with the freshest fruit and tastiest local dishes imaginable. We truly felt like we were staying in a jungle oasis but we were still only a 10 min tuk tuk or a 40 min walk from town. The birdsong in the mornings or the train chugging past on the railway line just below has to be experienced. The room & bathroom was compact but beautifully furnished which made it an excellent place to recover after hiking the hills around Ella. 10/10 would stay again!!

We had a lovely stay here. The room is basic but with all you need and had the comfiest bed and pillow we have had on our trip in Sri Lanka. The host is so warm and welcoming and it was lovely sharing tea on the patio. Thank you!
