The family run Inn in the picturesque Berber countryside of Azrou was serene and beautiful. This part of the little village known as Bensmim is near what used to be the largest sanatorium and hospital in Africa. This 1000 bedroom hospital was specialized in treating people with asthmatic conditions until it closed. This mountain valleys offer the best oxygen levels in the country. The staff and specially Fatima is a wonderful host and person. 3 hours of sleeping here equals 7 hours in the big urban cities.
Boasting a shared lounge and views of mountain, La Rose Blanche is a recently renovated guest house situated in Zaouia Ben Smine, 18 km from Lion Stone.
Le Palais des Cerisiers offers an outdoor swimming pool and a spa with a sauna, hammam and massage room. It is located in the heart of the Middle Atlas, just 4 km from Azrou.

Nice hotel close to Azrou and the "Cedre Gouraud" area. Comfortable room with a big terrasse, a nice restaurant on site, and a large pool/spa.
The town of Azrou is nothing special, but the cedar forest above is spectacular. If you like nature, avoid the parking areas where monkeys congregate to feast on junk food. Instead hire a local guide and tour the forest. For French speakers, I recommend Abdellah (ask hotel for contact info) who took me on a 4-hour hike including 30 min observing a group of 40+ wild monkeys going about their business. Magic! Cost was about 40 EUR/USD.
Offering a restaurant, Riad Azrou is located in Azrou. An array of activities can be enjoyed on site or in the surroundings, including cycling, fishing and hiking. Free WiFi access is available.

Stylist and well laid out . Huge bed and lots of parking . Lovely welcoming tea ..beautiful dinner .
Travellers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. This simple accommodation is in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
I liked all the unadvertised extras such as 3 meals a day and a mountain bike. The host Khalid is a teacher and speaks great English. He told me where to see would monkeys 6 km away and provided me with the bike to ride there. To visit the university and the lake. No money was expected or talked about. However, in fairness, I gave him in return... Maybe accommodation was a stay in a room with a host family . A lovely family, his wife, and daughter hafsa, who also spoke some English. Adorable but crazy Siamese kitten.
Amazing experience staying with this lovely family in their home. We will treasure our time here forever as it was a great opportunity to have an authentic Morroccon experience. We enjoyed breakfast made with home baked bread, eggs etc. The apartment is a short walk to the centre where there are plenty of restaurants and shops. If you're looking for a real home stay experience then you need to stay here.
Very friendly, welcoming and helpful homestay! I'd certainly return and not just for the great food ;-)
If you like to stay with a local including a familiar atmosphere, family dinner, shared bathroom and a fun chat about life in Marocco, come and stay here, we can definately recommend it.
Honestly the facility was recommended by most locals and also by couple of friends due to most facilities being closed to private. But overall I did like the nice pool, the quiet area, the view, and overall nature of the place. I liked the fact that it's somewhat far from the city that way nobody walk there unless they're renting there.
