The hotel is right on the beach, and the beach is lovely. Calm inlets to snorkel and swim, powdery white sand, palm trees for shade. As a scuba diver, I really appreciated the Liquid Salt dive center affiliated with the hotel. It made arranging my dive trips effortless, and the dive masters were lovely. Some of the best diving I've done.
The hotel is not at all pretentious, just...comfortable and welcoming. They have several lounging areas with soft chairs and bean bags, a library of take-one-leave-one books, and board games. I happened to finish the book I brought while there, and swapped it for another.
I have foods I can't eat, and the chef was very accommodating, making me customized meals and really taking care of me. It made such a difference since I was there during Ramadan and the few outside restaurants were mostly closed.
After Aveyla I transferred to another island for a different diving experience, but I didn't like it nearly as much. I wish I had stayed! And if/when I come back to Maldives, I will choose Aveyla again.

What a great hotel on a beautiful island. The staff were amazing. The room was large, clean and comfortable what more could you ask for. My sister and I had a brilliant stay here. The trips from the hotel were excellent and very reasonable. The food was good. Breakfast was a little basic but nothing wrong with it. The free use of the hotel bicycles was so useful. The only thing for us was with no balcony there was no where to sit outside in the evening. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The island it is on is beautiful, great tourist beach with fabulous reef, there is a grocery store and restaurants everything you could need really.

We were very satisfied with our stay! Kat at the reception was wonderfully helpful and friendly. The accommodation offered fantastic trips and their scuba diving centre provided an excellent diving experience. Had a wonderful stay here at Kihaa! The island is nice and quiet, you really can calm down here and enjoy your time in remoteness. The AC in my room worked well, there are some international power sockets in the accomodation (so you don't need an adapter) and the host Mohamed is really kind :) He even provides snorkeling equipment so you can enjoy the beautiful underwater world at the house reef (which truly is amazing). You should come here!

Travellers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. This simple accommodation is in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
This is a cute Inn, in the heart of Dharavandhoo, a quiet and charming local island. Throughout the week John was a great host, he was welcoming and friendly, doing anything to make my stay memorable. He organised excursions and was always happy to stop for a chat. Every evening we went to watch the sharks and sting rays getting fed in the harbour by local fishermen. Great breakfast and dinner options, ranging from local to European cuisine, I was stuffed every day. Nazuro is a great chef!
