The place is in a nice small neighbourhood close to the center. People around are nice and friendly. The place itself is just perfect with a huge common place and an open kitchen (if you wanna cook it’s really nice). The host is very kind energetic and willing to help.

The Best Adventure Hostel is a recently renovated guest house in San Gil, where guests can make the most of its garden and barbecue facilities. This guest house also has a rooftop pool. More than satisfied with my one week stay here. The staff were very friendly and helpful the entire time. Wifi was strong though the thick walls in the old house weakened it. I was still able to work without problem. Fantastic location as near the intersection where the best restaurants and cafes emenate from in San Gil and only a block away from the main square.

Featuring a garden and views of city, Real Dream Hostel is a recently renovated guest house located in San Gil, 42 km from Chicamocha National Park. We loved our stay in the private room! The room was quite big, nice bathroom, and comfortable beds. Staff were extremely helpful, helped us organize activities and transport, and also made great breakfast! This was all for a very good price. Loved our stay!

Offering a bar and garden view, Hostal Colombian Gold is situated in San Gil, 42 km from Chicamocha National Park and 42 km from Chicamocha Water Park. Enjoyed my stay at the hostel. Room came with a comfortable bed and had shelving to put my things. Big shower with hot water. A rather simple hostel in terms of facilities, but had a nice common area and drinks, etc are available for purchase. The owners were very knowledgeable about buses, activities etc although I did none as I suffered from the worst case of food poisoning in my life while there (they were supportive of me during it). Everything kept very clean. Neighborhood is safe and close to the central square. A bit limited neighborhood if you like to not always eat Colombian food (the opposite side of the square offers more options) although I highly recommend Terramonti House around the corner for gourmet international cuisine at reasonable prices. Wifi was lightning fast though it did not always get along with my Chromebook Internet card (not their fault),

Featuring garden views, ADVENTURE Hostel features accommodation with a rooftop pool, a garden and a bar, around 41 km from Chicamocha National Park. The location was perfect. The price is outstanding. The staff were amazing and did everything they could to help you and make your stay as comfortable as possible. The two hostels (affiliated) were both well maintained and one of them had a nice pool and rooftop area. Between the two there is plenty of space to relax. There was always a spare bathroom, all of which were a great size. Tours and activities can be booked from the hostel, making it really easy. There were not a lot of people at this hostel when I was there so it felt very homely, I’m not sure how this would change if every bed was taken. Very affordable laundry options available. Overall, potentially the best hostel I’ve stayed at on my South America trip.
