We spent 5 days enjoying the unspoiled nature. The host, Ricardo was very attentive to our needs and breakfast he made was simply delicious. If you want to enjoy pure nature and have the whole beach for yourselves this is the place to be. Our 11 year old son enjoyed diving through the waves that made him absolutely happy.

Quinta El Mamey is a recently renovated guest house in Río Verde, where guests can make the most of its garden and bar. Fernando and Belinda made me feel so welcome and I got to have experiences in Esmeraldas that I was not able to have anywhere else. The food was incredible and I loved running on the beach right outside their property. One day I ended up running for two hours! The natural beauty of the area coupled with eating many different fruits and foods that I have never tried before made this an unforgettable experience.

Situated in Mompiche, La Casa Mompiche offers beachfront accommodation 100 metres from Mompiche Beach and offers various facilities, such as a garden and barbecue facilities. We loved the place; it is very cozy, has a great location, and is surrounded by a wide variety of restaurants. The owners are very friendly—Santiago and Miriam are always willing to help and lend a hand with anything you need. It’s a pet-friendly place, which was a huge plus for us. They are very pleasant people. We hope to return to Mompiche and stay at this same hotel.

What did I like? Vanessa, the hostess. Intelligent, organized, conscientious, kind, thoughtful, very familiar with the area and has many local resources. She arranged a guide for an unforgettable nature hike. If you're there for the surf, Vanessa is a surfer. Even if you choose not to stay here be certain to visit her breakfast cafe. She prepares an excellent flavorful selection of juices, 8am to 10am. You won't regret it.

Set just 80 metres from Mompiche Beach, Onda Hostel Mompiche offers accommodation in Mompiche with access to a garden, a bar, as well as a shared kitchen. The hostel is perfectly located in the lovely town of mompiche. The hostel doesn’t feel like a hostel but rather your home away from home. The staff, particularly Fracho, makes you feel so welcomed and is attentive to anything you may need. They also have Starlink and a generator in case the power goes out, making it ideal for people who want to work from the hostel. Highly recommend!

Boasting an open-air bath and views of inner courtyard, OCEANSURF hosteria is a recently renovated guest house set in Mompiche, 400 metres from Mompiche Beach. I was very happy with my stay here; set in a private garden with hammocks and outside kitchen, this room was clean, safe and quiet and just steps from the heart of the village and the sea. There's a friendly member of staff onsite too if you have any issues or questions. Most of the budget rentals in Mompiche are constructed from bamboo but Ocean Surf is solidly constructed, so this is definitely the best choice if you are a light sleeper; you won't be kept awake by the music, dogs and cockerels! I have already made plans to return.

Stayed here for 2 nights in mid Fed 2025. Paid $20/night, but I'd say this place is worth more like $10-$13/night. They have early check-in at 6am, my room had a/c and a refrigerator, and the staff person (Norma) was friendly. They have early check-in at 6am.

Featuring pool views, Hostal Aruba offers accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, a garden and barbecue facilities, around 100 metres from Atacames Beach. I had a great time at the hostal, the owners where really nice and Atacames is a very nice town with a little bit of everything. My room was very clean and it was nice to have airconditioning at night. The breakfast there is very good! At the end the owner even took me to the busstation with his car! All in all I can really recommend it!
