The house was beautifully renovated and comfortable. Our hostess, Kira, was wonderful. There was always fresh fruit available and a lovely cozy living room with a fireplace. I would have liked to stay there for a longer time.

At our next stay in Elgin we will definitely stay there again if possible.

Brenda, the host, is absolutely a delight and will go out of her way to make you feel welcome! Extremely comfortable, clean, lovely decor in the room and breakfast was delicious. Definitely give this place a whirl as you will not be disappointed!

Tony and Natali were perfect hosts during our 2 night stay, including very helpful restaurant recommendations. We hadn’t initially booked breakfasts, but were glad we changed our mind on arrival … superb! Couldn’t fault the accommodation either, and we’d definitely stay there again if we’re back in Ballater.

The lodge is very conveniently located just when entering town. The host were super friendly and always interested to making feel at home. The room was cozy and comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful, being spoiled with nice local breakfast foods (e.g. full English, egg omelettes etc.). All in all just a great stay!

The owner/host, Peter knows a thing or two about hostitality and is keen to explain the background of his antique furnitures and artifacts in and around the house. This Gentleman goes the extra mile in all he does. The rooms and bathrooms are spotless, you won’t find any spot which is not clean. The breakfast is personalised and served in an antique dining room. Compliments for this gentleman who makes you feel very very welcome and appreciated. Highly recommended to book your stay here.
